I’ve had a ‘13 C63 AMG coupe for almost a year now. Absolutely love it to death. Biggest gripe would have to be the transmission though, it’s borderline terrible. It’s almost if the car can’t make up its mind sometimes and jerks you forward. The amazing V8 and sound makes up for it though 👌🏼
@asifmohammad29786 жыл бұрын
Carnivore strange. I had a 12” C63 mapped and fitted with a Quaife. Gearbox was v smooth, no jerkiness and shifts were fairly quick for a single clutch. C mode was comfy , M was ideal for fast driving

I bought a 2014 C63 2 door last year, it's all black. Absolutely love it. Had 55k miles on it. Now it has 77k miles. Just an awesome car to drive. Best C63 out there. Love the sound of the 6.2. Personally not a fan of the 4.0 Twin turbo. Just my opinion though. But real good video 🤘🤘 glad it came across me

Great vid ... I too had one of these and sold it for the 4 litre twin turbo .. both cars old and new are great. The 4.0 c63s has a much faster gearbox and the suspension modes make it a better planted harder track car .. on both cars, the sport + mode makes the gearbox totally trick and with one of the best engines of all time , the combo is difficult to beat .. and I’ve owned an s4 v8 and driven many M3s.... if you want a car as a long term investment , Here it is.....a future classic ...

Yours is the performance pack plus mate, Performance pack was pre and a few post facelift cars and had no power increase but had lowered suspension, a rear LSD, and I think the alcatenra inserts on the wheels still too. Possibly a few more bits too. Lovely cars aren’t they? Had mine 18 months now and loving it.

agreed the 6.2 is special but I really wouldn't knock the 4.0 w205. as an overall vehicle it eats the w204 for breakfast, but it doesn't make much sense to eat the depreciation on the 205s. also the design of the facelift 204 is better than the 205 in saloon form. the interior of the 205 is a major step up and you can get the 205 with HUD,.360 cams and distronic , so if you want a highway cruiser then the 205 is the one. handles a lot better too. if you want something leary wild ,loud and beastly then the 204 is the one and it is a bargain compared to the 205. the ultimate 63 is the black series but they are not affordable.
@jgripen9695 жыл бұрын
AMG thought it was a good idea to put 255 tires at the rear with a 6.2 L engine. The E39 M5 has 275 stock, and that has 400HP from a smaller 5.0L V8. If you slap on wider tires, the 204 is going to handle much, much better. But in the end, that 6.2 is all i need to hear for me to go for the 204 over the 205.

To get more mileage out of the rear tires, you need to get a rear camber kit - even if the car is stock. It just runs way too much negative camber & thus chews the inside of the rear wheels way too quickly. I did it in mine, and get close to 12k miles now, and that includes track 3 -4 days in that number. :)

A C63 with development package has floating rotors and costs much more than non-Dev package C63. My non-dev brake discs were only $150 each, and 70$ for pads, but Dev package discs are like $900 each on Pelican Parts.com

Loved the video!! I've been thinking about buying one of these for a while,, is it worth going for the 507 edition? Also can you run it on 95 petrol or does it have to be premium? Thanks
@MattJones6 жыл бұрын
+lookatcha hey, I thought for a while about the 507 edition. I didn’t go for it in the end but I love the 507 wheels and Bonnet vents. Other than that the engine is identical to the performance pack C63, with a slightly different tune. But both can be exceeded with a remap. The car does run on standard petrol but I always use high octane fuel, the engine deserves good quality fuel, plus if you get the car remapped it’s wise to always use the same fuel as that’s what the engine ‘understands’

@wendpassiyathoutmesalexpoa24445 жыл бұрын
Crankshaft 1776 if your commute is highway you should be good. I am getting 18 to 21 mpg on highway so like you driving a v6. But it is really bad on city cruise and when you step on the gase it will give you 8 mpg😂😂. So it all depends on you

Great video mate. My only complaint is you didn’t explain what the LSD does, and how traction works in the different modes. If someone can answer that’s great!
@MattJones6 жыл бұрын
+Edward Smith hey mate. A limited slip diff or LSD, means that both rear wheels spin at the same speed and same time, ultimately it sends power to the wheel that isn’t spinning, so both end up spinning together. A traditional open diff that most cars have (and most standard C63’s), send power to the wheel that’s already spinning, this means that you end up with one wheel spinning whilst the other isn’t delivering much power or traction to the road. So an LSD puts more power down overall, increasing acceleration but most of all increasing control. Regarding traction, you can have it fully switched on, in which case the car is actually very safe, ‘sport’ traction allows the rear wheels to break traction briefly, making the car tail happy but very controllable. With traction fully off, the car is an animal, especially in the wet. Prepare to be snaking all over the road when you floor it, but you can also do burnouts and drifts so it’s amazing to have all 3 modes
@edwardsmith19696 жыл бұрын
Matt Jones thanks mate. You’re one of the few youtubers who actually bother replying. My question was about c, s and s+ or m. I’ve heard the exhaust pops and bangs only happen in sports+ or m? Is this true? I don’t want to be making these with risk of traction being off or limited as I’ll spin off the road.
@MattJones6 жыл бұрын
Edward Smith hey mate. Sorry I misunderstood your question. Okay so the driving modes are comfort, sport, sport plus and manual. You can control these modes by turning a small selector wheel by the gear selector. These modes have nothing to do with traction control, that’s a separate button and feature. So you can drive in sport plus and have traction completely switched on, which will remain safe. The exhaust will sound the same in all modes when accelerating, the only difference is that in s+ and M - the gear changes are faster and more aggressive which sound better, it will change gear in 0.1 seconds; this means that down shifts sound amazing in these modes.
@edwardsmith19696 жыл бұрын
Matt Jones amazing mate. Happy Easter. Do you know any key things to look for when buying a 62-13 plate coupe?
@MattJones6 жыл бұрын
Edward Smith they’re all very similar. I prefer the 19 inch wheels to the 18inch wheels. But that’s just appearance and personal preference. I’ve heard that the Harmon kardon sound system is decent. Mine doesn’t have that but the sound system is great regardless. I think they’re amazing cars that are reliable and deliver amazing power.
