@NathanMannin Жыл бұрын
There’s not enough LPG stations to give me that peace of mind unfortunately. I also don’t do many miles to warrant an LPG conversion either. There’s 99 RON in my local town which is convenient enough. I suppose it would make more sense in a big gas guzzling V8 SUV. Especially if you live in a city with easy access to LPG and don’t commute to many remote areas.

Hi nathan, im thinking to buy one, ofcourse a w204 model, how many miles on the car should i go for? And what should i look for when i buy one
@NathanMannin2 жыл бұрын
Hello Jiin! Honestly it depends on your preference of mileage. I personally don’t think mileage is an issue, some cars get treated better with 70k miles than cars with 30k miles. These cars are pretty bulletproof, providing that regular service and maintenance is kept up to date. In the C63 groups I’m in, there’s plenty of owners who’ve had their cars well over 70k miles and some over 100k miles, and their cars perform brilliantly! When you go to see one, this sounds cliche but obviously make sure it’s got a full service history, ideally by a Mercedes Specialist as they will always look after your car and know what they’re doing. If you do buy one with 50k miles, try and find out if it’s had a gearbox service yet, as it’ll need one soon if it hasn’t. Be sure to check if the injectors have been done before, because if they go wrong then it’s detrimental damage. Make sure you definitely check the condition of the auxiliary belt too! Then just listen out for funny noises from the engine when is on. A common noise which my C63 makes is a quiet tick tick tick when the engine is idling, that is normal. Anything more than that, then you may have to ask some questions. There’s KZbin videos about those engine noises and C63 Facebook groups you could join which are very helpful. In essence, I say don’t worry about the mileage too much. Like I said, some high mileage cars are treated much better than lower mileage car. It all depends on the owner, make sure you just take your time and don’t rush into buying one and make sure it’s got a great full service history!
@n-vital972 жыл бұрын
Hi Jiin, like what’s been said, look for service history over mileage, with a true enthusiast owner preferred, I’d suggest going for the 2012-2014 post facelift as the engines had the head bolts redesigned as they tended to fail on pre-facelift cars, Check for ticking on idle as it could be the lifters going out and the alloys tend to crack so check for welding, I’d suggest any car you are considering, take it to a specialist to get a PPI as they will tend to find things that need sorting out.
@NathanMannin2 жыл бұрын
@@n-vital97 That’s a very good point made there. You’d much rather buy privately from an enthusiast who knows their car inside out. Ideally someone who seems passionate and very knowledgeable about their C63 who can answer every question under the sun. Garages/dealers won’t know the history or how that specific car drives, so I would definitely prefer to buy private. Also one thing you should do which I think is a MUST if you have found a C63 you’re about to purchase. That is to do a HPI check on the car. It’s a huge expense to make and something you want to enjoy and have a clear conscience over. I’m speaking from experience as I bought a car without a HPI check which looked great. Then later down the line I found it was a CAT C. Some people will try to hide that, so definitely make sure you do a HPI check to make sure it hasn’t been in an accident or anything else, that is of course you are dead certain on buying that car.
@jiin_59282 жыл бұрын
@@NathanMannin Ah, i would have always thought buying from a dealer would be better, i dont know much about cars, i will obviously be researching a lot about the c63 and how to buy even a car, but yeah the buying from a private seller seems logical now, any idea is in 2-3 years the price of the w204 wiill stay the same or drop? or maybe even increase? i know they increased from 2-3 years ago what about another couple of years?
@NathanMannin2 жыл бұрын
@@jiin_5928 I mean I’m not saying don’t buy from a dealer, as I’m sure there are some good ones out there who know their stuff, and if you can get a 1 warranty, then that might make it worth while. But you have to take it into consideration that dealers charge more than private sellers, and a private seller will know a lot more about their own car than a dealer would. There’s pros and cons for both, but personally for a C63 that’s 10 years old like mine, I would prefer to buy privately from an enthusiast. I honestly have no idea about values, there’s so many variables as to why prices have increased over the past couple of years. But with the way the world is going and how volatile things are, I wouldn’t know whether C63 prices will go up or down. I personally think prices will stay the same for the foreseeable future, I don’t think the W204 C63 will go down in value, or go up much either.

I had my heart set on a coupe but, there's something about the estate's that have really converted me, will also get wife points and assist with ferrying round my 1 year old! Getting child seats in and out of a 3dr is a losing battle. A fair compromise! Very rare aswell only 11 on Autotrader compared to 80/90 coupe's/saloons. The dream would be to find an estate with PPP, which will obviously delay the find. Would you say the PPP is a must? Cheers!
@NathanMannin2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for the support! : ) Is that the MK4 or MK5 R32? The noise they make is phenomenal, excellent choice to go to a C63 as you certainly won’t be lacking in the noise department, that’s for sure! I can completely understand the child seat problem, as the previous owner sold me his C63 for that exact reason! 😆If I could go back I would’ve definitely gotten the saloon, as it’s just a better looking car to me and there’s nothing better than a fast unsuspecting family saloon 😉 I am also all for a fast wagon too! In regards to your PPP question, why would you like it? For me personally, I don’t think it’s worth the premium. I only got mine by chance, I wasn’t actively looking for a PPP. I just wanted the grey exterior and red and black leather with my diamond cut wheels and it just so happened to be a PPP too. With the PPP, you get red callipers (which you could respray yourself), stronger brakes which are very expensive to replace(standard brakes are more than good enough), 30 extra horsepower, stronger engine internals which are from the SLS (which isn’t necessary as the normal internals are more than strong enough, even when supercharged) ,dark greys manifold cover, half alcantara steering wheel and a carbon lip spoiler (but if you get an estate I guess that won’t matter anyway) I think that’s everything the PPP has over the standard car. I personally wouldn’t wait to find one, most of the PPP features you wouldn’t be missing out, and if you wanted them you could add them yourself. The only thing I really love about having my PPP is the red brake callipers and carbon lip spoiler, which you could add to the standard car easily. Most people in the C63 AMG UK Facebook will also tell you the PPP isn’t worth the extra money. Sorry for the monumental write up, I hope it helps and you find the perfect family wagon : )

It's a case of I must get a V8 before they're taxed off the road or banned 🤣 and with the estate, it ticks literally every box for me, both the sensible and not sensible ones

@@Dolphster77 the only other car which could tick those boxes, is the wacko VXR8! 507’s are lovely but not worth the huge premium they have over the standard car in my opinion. That’s exactly why I bought the C63, got to enjoy these cars whilst we still can! : )

@@NathanMannin I used to have a couple of performance Vauxhall's before I switched to VW, so funnily enough the Monaro VXR/VXR8 was always the ambition. There's something about an estate with a 6.2L engine which I find hilarious, incredible and something we'll never see again. I think it's one of those where it's now or never.

Really? I don’t know what fuel prices are like in Australia, but here in the UK they’ve absolutely sky rocketed! More so a month or two ago, it was nearly £2.00 a litre 😅
