Westies are the best! Our first one lived almost 19 years, our second one lived for 12 years, and we have our third one now, and she is 6. Would never own another breed. They're tough, but worth it!!

I loved all my Westies and I always say if Jesus had a dog it would be Simon. Such a good dog. Rescu3d him after his championship. He wad used for stud service and then he lived with me till the end. Hi Renzo What a wonderful Westie you have there🥰 This breed is a great personality in a small body. Westie are great dogs! I got my first Westie dog Jenny 22 years ago. Unfortunately she was only 8 years old when she died of cancer. Very sad. Then I got Maja Westie. She turned 14 years this August. Wonderful and lovable dog also.These dog are just so positive and happy dogs. Love them forever!❤️

westies have a loud bark and are very protective. If they hear a new sound, they'll bark to alert you. Mine barks every time it sees a squirrel or if a dog or the mailman passes by. They were bred to hunt for rodents so that's why. They are extremely brave, courageous, and loving. He's like a mini body guard. Also, extremely playful, full of energy, smart, and fantastic with kids & adults

He is adorable. How old is he?? I had a female.for 9 years, then she got breast cancer & i had to put her down. She could fly like the wind as i see Leo does as well. Mine also had the Westie-tud!!! She sure loved the snow as well, & could chew up every ball i gave her. Sure miss her, she was a personality like no other dog i have had. Hope Leo lives a long & healthy life😘💝

yes indeed -- our Westie Olive is 10 and has been diagnosed with a fatty tumor on inside of her right thigh. Looks ugly but VET says it should be ok and considering operation to fix it. However, the first VET bill was $890.00 and surgery is estimated to be in excess of $3,500.00 --- How much love can you give a dog versus your wallet being lightened a lot... Thinking of starting a GoFundMe page for it cause I am working 2 part time jobs now and really like the dog, but golly --- ever see a CAT scan machine for a dog?

What's not to love?! A couple of questions if I may (I'm considering getting myself a Westie)? Leo doesn't seem to be too yappy. Is this normal for Westies? I don't want an overly vocal dog. Also, how trainable are they? I don't want a circus dog but do want one that I have confidence will respond to commands (sit, stay, no, come here). Many thanks.

He is a vocal dog I'm not going to lie. Normally, Westies have a loud bark and will bark at various things. They were initially bred this way in order to alert owners when they saw rodents. Like in the clip, when he saw a dog pass by and the squirrel he started barking. When it comes to commands he responds well and is very smart. He listens when I tell him to come, sit, or to not do something. As long as you start training him when he is young you'll be fine. Hope this helps!

We named him James Clerk Maxwell, after the Scottish physicist whose work in electromagnetic field theory was an inspiration to Einstein (the scientist). Jamie is, of course, short for James. Jamie lives in a home piano studio and has inherited Einstein's chauffeur-driven classic Jaguar. He is a puppy and sometimes mischievous of course.
