I was diagnosed with Lupus 4 years ago , it’s painful , your white blood cells attacks your red blood cells, your experience hair lost, pain , inflammation, depression, but the way deal with it is God Strength, and fighting for my children and husband to live for them , and still try to have a normal life as possible.

Indeed You know what I love about christ despite the battle, the mountain, the struggles he is there with you but many times we say why me lord ?but we fail to see that God want our attention most of the time we say we are Christians but many times in our heart we are hypocritical towards him if we dont love our self we cant love God .many says christ is coming which I do believe with my whole heart but what are we doing with our life? are we living every day as our last? do we read and pray enough?are we as the rich young ruler that didn't want to give his goods to the poor .

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. What your dermatologist didn’t say that I would like to add: Yes, this sucks. Nobody wants to be diagnosed with a chronic illness, and it is totally acceptable to feel that pain. You’re a young beautiful girl and losing your hair, being told to change your normal regimens, take multiple medications... that’s not easy!! But the good news is that now we have a diagnosis which means we have something to target! With this information you are equipped to tackle this condition and seek the proper treatment to have the quality of life you deserve! If that’s free from pain and symptoms without the use of pharmaceuticals then that’s something she should clearly identify the pros and cons of; which she did not. I’m a BSN RN student and her complete lack of empathy was appalling. It’s disheartening to see how easily some health care professionals can become jaded. I pray you meet a better dermatologist in the future, you got this girl! 🤍 you’re beautiful, you are loved, and you matter 💕

I am now 55 and was just diagnosed with Discoid Lupus. I remember hitting my head on the edge of a metal shelf in a patients room as I am a RN. I want to say about a year or so later I noticed a bald spot. I’ve been reading trying to understand and yes I’ve read stress but also trauma can cause it. I too had a biopsy done and it confirmed discoid. I am using a steroid ointment but I have been using Rosemary oil and peppermint as they say the rosemary oil has been likened to the potency of Minoxidil. I have always had beautiful hair like you and as women God said our hair is our glory so to be attacked like this is a lot. I had a derm of color…basically it’s like they say there is no cure. But I trust God and know that He can heal and I am trusting Him to do just that. I heard within me the hair will be restored. Then like the enemy I found two more spots. Trust God in the process and lean on Him. He knew we would be going through this only He can keep you as He is keeping me. God bless you and strengthen you in Jesus name♥

@@Journey_for_two this is true to some degree, yes doctors have to be level headed when giving out information to families or patients but that doesn’t mean they can’t be sympathetic once the information is delivered. I was diagnosed with DLE over 8 years ago. My initial reaction was shock and I was thankful the biopsy from the dermatologist was just that dle but was recommended to see a rheumatologist as well which in fact i did see one and was put on medication for joint pain and inflammation I took it but slowly got off of it. I went the natural route and changed my diet (lifestyle in terms of eating) my doctor also told me it’s very very very rare the DLE will turn into SLE although some ppl may only just develop some of the symptoms a person with SLE would have but it’s less likely to develop. It’s tough I know and I hate explaining it to friends because they don’t really understand but also ppl can be cruel about it and why you have bald spots, I mean I older now and just developed a close relationship with messy buns. I pray everything work out and you find what works for you and have a full happy and successful life 🥰🥰

I have an amazing primary doctor who answers all my questions concerning Lupus. She told me my Lupus was at the beginning stage. I see my Primary and Rheumatologist every six month to see if anything change. Exposure to the sun can trigger a flare up, when your body is under physically stress and certain foods can also trigger a flare up. There are days you may be physically tired and can’t get out of bed. There is a doctor on KZbin I follow Dr. Connie Jeon she has Lupus and Lorissa Nelson on KZbin which no longer has Lupus. I’m oddly at peace with it. Knowing it’s not systemic and only attacking my scalp. I hate it’s progressing (it’s more annoying than anything), but I’m at peace with the fact that there’s really nothing I’m doing that’s causing it. Anyway! I’m hoping to learn more from your journey so the symptoms don’t exacerbate.

Stay strong girl. My cousin/sister passed away from lupus last year. I’ve seen 1st hand everything she went thru… a lot of episodes, a lot of different medication. It was to the point where it attacked her brain and other organs. But what I did find that was very helpful to gain her strength back was eating healthy and drinking cactus juice…but you have to be consistent.. so make sure uu eat healthy. Stay positive and keep praying. I will definitely keep you in my prayers as uu battle with this disease. You are not alone in this. Thank you for opening up and sharing your story. 💜💜

I offer this as an encouragement. I'm 56 and I have lupus. Back in 2019, a lot of my hair fell out. It was very devastating...but, it is what it is. I just chose to embrace it. I shaved my head. A year later, it all grew back. Thank the Lord. If it hadn't grown back, I'd still thank the Lord because he knows more about the hairs on my head than I do. You're in my prayers.

I am so happy to finally find someone who also have discoid lupus, not SLE. I was diagnosed in 2015 at the age of 19 , but my hair began to fall out in high school and was told it was eczema. I am 24 years old now and at the time I was diagnosed , I was devastated. I am only on plaquenil and azothprine. I had to come with terms that my hair was gone , the permanent scarring is just another factor of my life. You got this , you will have your days where you just want to give up , but you have to stay strong and not stress. Flare Ups suck tremendously, but they don’t last forever. I take a more holistic approach now and have completely changed my diet to plant based along with taking turmeric for inflammation daily. This have help my discoid lupus TREMENDOUSLY ! You got this , I’m so happy to find someone I can relate to within my age range cause it’s hard to cope with this alone.

My sister please don't fret. I have been living with lupus since 2000. The oral medication that I was given was Plaquenil. When the lady told you to reduce your stress she was so spot-on. Having a child I'm sure will produce some sort of stress with you but just take it in stride. Please know that you're not alone. There are many of us out here and we deal with it day today. Please do wear sunscreen please wear some type of hat covering and if you're trying to be cute this summer like me, make sure you have some type of covering on your arms. I will continue to pray for you and others. Please listen to your body when it tells you that it's tired get the rest that you need. You may feel like you're dragging that's just one of the side effects of a flare. You can do this we are all with you. Amen

It wasn’t until may my primary doctor told me the mono test was a false positive. I suffer from body pain, lesions on my skin (what I thought was just severe cystic acne), loss of appetite, nausea, fatigue, fever and chills. My grandma had lupus. My blood work showed I have a positive ANA. She told me it’s most likely lupus. I’m following up with my rheumatologist soon. We are lupus warriors! We got this 💜

Young lady, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. You’re a beautiful articulate woman. I also have a medical challenge that’s exacerbated by stress that doesn’t have a cure. But I refuse to accept that. I also prefer natural interventions. I’d like to encourage you to find a functional medical practice and do your own research. I try various natural things to help myself and slowly I’m making progress. I’ll list some things that you might want to look into that are helping me. 1) herbals ( for gut issues impacting my immune system ) from the functional medical practice 2) grounding/earthing ( decreases my inflammation, stress load, and calms my sympathetic nervous system ) 3) Heartmath breathing ( decreases stress and engages parasympathetic nervous system ) 4) Meditation ( teaches you to observe your thoughts instead of reacting. It also teaches you to be in the moment ) 5) Eating clean ( the majority of our immune system function is reliant on our gut health. ) 6) Drink a sufficient amount of water ( flush out toxins ) 7) Sleep ( our bodies heal and remodel during sleep. When we don’t get enough sleep the body isn’t allowed to heal itself) The timing of your sleep is also important. 8) Have them check your vitamin D levels ( note: vitamin and mineral deficiencies can impact your body’s ability to carry out its work. The result can be dis-ease. Some thing has to go undone when the raw material to do the job isn’t available. Majority of black people are vitamin D deficient ) 9) you might need to take supplements until you can get your system back into balance. 10) healthy fats like certified olive oil and avocado oil These are some things that are helping me. Please, research them to see if you might want to try them. I usually try something for at least a month to see if it helps me. Tap into your intuition and follow the path that your intuition guides you down. There might not be a cure but I truly believe that you and I can find natural ways to get our conditions under control. I believe you can overcome this. This is our bodies way of telling us that something needs to change. Develop your own care plan to take care of yourself. Your body is speaking to you in its way. You can beat this. I’m sending you love and light. 🙏🏾

I'm blessed to hear your story because I don't have lupus but I have been diagnosed with an auto immune disorder 6 years now and it turned my life upside down. I have HS and when I found out that it was no cure my heart dropped further. I'm still processing this and too I am not a medication type of person never was and to think of having to take any type of medicine that my body has to process out makes me so depressed. I spoke with my family once I found out and it was then when I found out that it's genetic and it runs in the family from my Mother's side. That each one of my aunt's have some form of an autoimmune disorder. Fibromyalgia, alopecia, HS, vitiligo, and now all of the cousins are going through their issues. No one in the family has yet to be diagnosed with lupus but that doesn't mean someone hasn't or won't. I say this to say it's a long road ahead and with this the unknown is much scary, being young with do much life left makes it even harder for no one will ever know what you feel mentally, physically, or emotionally but take one day at a time, research, find those alternatives through holistic healing that may help keep this dormant and suppressed and hopefully they will find a cure. I cry with you not because I'm sad but I cry for hope for you, me and all who goes through similar. God got us. He said he will not put no more on us than we could handle do I figure he thinks we can and through us we maybe able to help another. Blessings my sister and strength, hope, peace don't let the stress affect the body for it will. Your beautiful, your intelligent, and your strong don't forget this. I salute you and I thank you💪🙏💯

I'm curious how old you are, I was diagnosed with discoid lupus when I was in my early forties when I was 36 I notices my hair getting thinner so I decided not to relax my hair anymore. I remember being really tired all the time too and always cold. My hair did grow back once I went natural. About 5 years later I noticed a bald spot in the crown of my head that look similar yours. I first thought it was a ringworm so I was trying to cure it on my own holistically. After about four months I went to my primary care doctor she treated me 2 or 3 times with fungal antibiotics after about 4 months I decided I wanted to see a dermatologist who did a biopsy and told me I had discoid lupus and I need to see a rheumatologist.I know how you feel in the beginning I didn't do what the doctor told me because I didn't like taking medicine either I was in denial and disbelief. Yes stress definitely makes it worse but you have to find coping mechanisms to help you reduce your stress levels it will help with flares. It's been over 10 years and I have found ways to maintain the Lupus better by through a lot of research , exercising , stop eating beef because it does something with people with autoimmune diseases, and trying eat a more plant based diet it seems to be working. My last for check-ups my ANA (

Not even true...lupus is so different for everyone! I've had lupus SLE for almost 5 years and tired everything from an elimination diet, to testing food sensitivity to cutting out red meats so no. Healthy diet in general are helpful, yes, but it's not gonna do for everyone and i don't recommend just cutting out meds bc lupus is so hard, it changes with your hormones level, the weather, stress and live situations and definitely is changes as you age so the whole " go vegan " thing is over rated in my opinion as someone who battles with it every. single. day.
