Living with mental health conditions on a daily basis is difficult, this is a brief overview of my life having Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Learning to manage these conditions is very difficult for both me and my family. But we persist and try not to let it beat us even though there are days when it almost does.
Autsim/Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a relatively new concept for me only being diagnosed when i was 32. This is the start of my Journey into understanding Autism / Autistic Spectrum Disorder for myself. Carefully looking at each aspect of my life and trying to understand more about it and maybe gain some understanding.
My Journey is personal but I will hope fully get friends and family along with me so we can do it together.
My aim is to understand my conditions and maybe in doing so may be able to help others...
The ultimate goal tho is for myself first and foremost (hope that doesnt sound too selfish, i dont mean it to be).
If you would be so kind as to think about subscribing to me on here and checking me out on twitch.tv I would be so grateful. I am trying my best to make the content more regular.

There is a world waiting for you, although people say it is a bad world the majority is good. Put on your armour, go and do battle and when you win the victory will be yours. You can achieve and you will achieve.

Thankyou. You are most welcome. I am trying to raise awareness for mental health of all kinds specifically my own as so many people suffer in quiet. I want to show people its ok to talk about it and share your experiences. Show people its ok to find things difficult. But nothing is ever impossible.

High standards and high expectations are in a way admirable but not if they're getting in your way, not if they disable you. Be gentle on yourself. You don't have to give everything your best.

Thankyou i understand what you are saying. But it is kind of difficult sometines to settle for a compromise instead of what you would like i guess. Its something i have to learn to work on.

A common symptom of people who have acute anxiety is that they think that people look, stare and talk behind their back, but do they really, they probably have many issues of their own to contend with. Maybe if someone does look at you they are probably concerned especially if you are looking very anxious. It is a battle and can only be conquered by constantly and with care facing what your mind is telling you to stay clear of but really you have to confront the fear inside your mind. Oh yes!! words are easy but putting things into practice is so difficult. With support hopefully, you find a way to control your anxiety but it is your own mind that has to conquer that fear. When things start to improve you will probably find those thoughts that scare you are not as bad as what they appeared and slowly you have to battle with your mind and tell it who is boss

Thats the aim i guess really. To be able to one day be in control of my own thoughts more.

I think we're about 90% the same actually, only I don't have problems talking to strangers - at least not to the point that I'm scared to. I do have an issue with wanting to "get away" when the conversation is done, but not knowing how (which can be frustrating!). I am absolutely onboard with the whole "loyalty" thing - I don't like talking about people behind their backs and I immediately dislike someone if they start talking about someone else to me in a bad way. It makes me think they talk about me when I'm not there. Sadly, I've not found many people who have the same train of thought and I have precisely zero IRL friends as it stands (which sucks). I've fallen out with people because I pull them up on their behaviour sometimes - I can't help it and... am I wrong? I don't think so - there's no room for childish games in friendships, you either like someone or you don't. My family are my friends I guess. Anyway, I'll leave it there or I'll ramble for hours.

Feel free to ramble mate u know my ears are always willing to listen to you and others stories. I love to listen and learn. Never feel that you cant talk to me mate. I always believe in giving people a chance to improve and change. If they dont want to then its their loss not mine.🙂

After visiting your therapist do you feel empowered or controlled. A good therapist will advise and support but will never try to control

My therapist gives me the tools and pieces of advice i need. What i do with them is my choice i guess. I do however feel a sense of needing to acheive after seeing him

Does the medication you take help or does it only disguise the issues?

The meds im on in the day help to slow my brain just enough for me to try and organise some sensible options and thoughts so i van make better choices. The ones at night help me relax a little. Just enough to make me a little sleepy after a while but not knock me out

@@AspieNeil speaking of which, I have noticed opioids help me slow down and function better. Just a super low dose, and I do so much better. Of course, I only take them for pain, as prescribed, but it is something I have noticed. I wish I could find a medication that could do the same thing for me, especially one that is made for such use and is not addictive.
