MAKE SURE YOUR POST NOTIFICATIONS ARE ON! BIG ANNOUNCEMENT COMING WEDNESDAY A LITTLE HINT IN THE FEED ROOM FOOTAGE... MAYBE.. Also, me reviewing a dog food brand really isn't an invitation for you guys to suggest that I switch my dog's diet around yet again to feed whatever you feed your dog. I'm not looking for suggestions, that is up to me and my vet because we already know what we have tried and what is working. It makes no sense to up and switch her food again if we find something that is working because we are trying to pinpoint what she may be allergic to. Respect that.

Ah, another good horse video from a grounded horse person. I needed this. The sale of my TWH colt fell through and I'm disappointed. I'm going to look at a 15hh 12 year old haflinger Sunday though so fingers crossed. I wish my dogs were picky lol they'll eat anything, including my fence. If you mention switching food, feeding food, food at all regarding your pets prepare to have a hundred comments full of opinions. People aren't taught the difference between invited advice and unwanted advice, and they're so self absorbed they think it's not uninvited from THEM because they care/areconcerned/Just want to help/ have good intentions/ were told by someone else blah blah. It all means the same thing. They were not raised with manners or do not apply the manners they were taught. Everyone thinks they are the exception and that they have a new idea or opinion that no one else could have possibly considered. It annoys you because you were taught manners and have a functioning brain that applies critical thinking skills. I guess take comfort in that? LOL Being annoyed means you're intelligent enough to be. Anyway, I appreciate your videos and the time and effort you put into them. Thank you for being a sane place in youtube.

I’m not sure if it’s applicable to smaller dogs like Phoebe, but research from this year has shown that dogs on a grain free diet are often deficient in the amino acid Taurine which can lead to major heart distinction. My dogs were on a premium grain free food for years and were healthy, but we recently switched because of the new research that has been published! Just something to look into :)

Its not just grain free. Its foods with chickpeas,potatoes or basically fillers becuase they block a dogs natural taurine
@Milestone-Equestrian
@Milestone-Equestrian 6 жыл бұрын
She just got switched to grain free recently so I really don't think it would make her deficient, plus most foods have added taurine now.. especially if the products in them are low in taurine.

No, not yet. She is just a baby and if I've found something that's working I dont want to change her food around a ton. I've also known some dogs that were super ill because of being on raw food diets as well as there being pros and cons with it, like everything. So no, I'm not looking to swap her diet unless theres a reason

Shelby Dennis i ment no hard by the the question and wasn’t trying to push it on you lol. I was wondering because I have experienced wonders with it. I had a dog with chronic skin conditions and allergies to the hills. And it worked for him. It doesn’t fit everyones lifestyle and I respect that. At least you are not feeding her old roy. The little paint is one cute pony.

Shelby, there have been recent links between dogs fed grain free diets and dilated cardiomyopathy. DCM used to be rare but is becoming more prevalent because owners are feeding grain free/exotic diets. It may be worth trying to identify which grains in particular she has issues with but including those which she doesn't into her diet. Just some food for thought (I'm a veterinary tech at a specialty research center).

Does anybody have any good articles or tips that I can use to decide my horses diet when I bring him home. He had been boarded at a barn where he’s been getting the grain that they provide. I would like to try and have him on some balances because he is currently only on grain but that costs extra at my barn.

savvylover211 actually, vets can do it with a special ultrasound. I’m gonna have the experience with my vet, cause he’s from the faculty and since my mare is really well behave, he’s gonna show his students how to do it. So I’ll find out for free hehehe! But he told me that’s it’s expensive so most people don’t do it.

I don't want to be that person that criticize you because from what I've seen you're a great Rider and amazing person. Your story will Milo is inspiring! Please don't take this as an attack just something I see that might help. When you jump it looks like your lower back is a bit rounded. If you "fluff" your butt like almost stick it up when in 2 point it might help with the rounding. You could also have more contact in the saddle if you arch your lower back. I rode a lot of hard horses and this was my savior. I had the most control when I arched my low back while jumping. I love your channel!
@Milestone-Equestrian
@Milestone-Equestrian 6 жыл бұрын
You are not supposed to arch your back... sticking your butt out and arching is a major trend in the h/j world that is hated by the vast majority of trainers, is incorrect eq and is also super bad for your back. So, please, with all due respect let my trainers train me instead of giving advice that would only serve to further damage my already messed up back. Arching your back is also not at all related to having contact in the saddle.
@Moodtoodrude
@Moodtoodrude 6 жыл бұрын
@@Milestone-Equestrian it seems as if you took this as an attack. And again not what I was trying to do. I didn't say arch your back. Under your hips bow when you go over a fence. I promise if you arched your lower back instead of rounding it you would have more contact with the saddle. It also gives you the ability to be in control of your body. Hunters do it to an extreme to look pretty. That isn't what I was suggesting at all. Even if you don't arch try to straighten your lower back. It puts less pressure on your back because your more balanced. The beauty of suggestions is you never have to try it. I was offering an idea based on my experience. Keep up the good work I really enjoy your videos!
