I had a buddy who lied about everything ever, but one day my brother and I had to call him out. He claimed that he and a couple friends set fire to and exploded a gas station, resulting in the death of one of them. He claimed they got away because they just blamed the dead kid. We said there is no fucking way, that it would have made the news and been a big deal. He still lied about other dumb shit, but that was just a bridge too far. Also I was with a girl who was taught by her mom that just lying to keep the peace was okay. She even lied to her therapist. Fucking wild.

I had a roommate that told her father she bought groceries with the money he gave her the day before but needed to buy the same groceries again that day. Why? Because her house was haunted and a ghost stole her groceries from her side of the fridge....yet this ghost left my groceries on my side of the fridge untouched. She claimed she was the only one being bothered by the ghost. Her dad looked at her incredulously upon hearing her tale so she burst into tears, crying to him that he must think she was lying and tearfully asked "You believe me, don't you Daddy?" He responds that he believes she thinks she's telling the truth. Obviously this was something that happened on a regular basis. When she went into the other room I told her Dad she never bought any groceries, she had spent the money on cigarettes and liquor. He smiled sadly and said he knew.

Well my cat had only one kitten because she was pretty young, barely out of kitten-hood herself, and we didn’t realise she was pregnant until she started to show a lot. So that one could happen if the cat wasn’t male!

I volunteered with a guy that lied about everything I do mean EVERYTHING. Here's a list of lies he told. *Pretended to know how to handle horses (this could have ended badly for both him and the horse) *Said he owned a horse yet couldn't give any details on the breed, had no photos on his phone *One day he came said he didn't turn up because he took a friends dog to be put down *Calimed he was going to be a contestant on a Uk show called take me out. When the new season came out he said the show had lost his tape *Tried to convince everyone that he was a star footballer that played for the county but wasn't playing right now due to injury

Two people ✌️ 1) A boy I was friends with back in middle school. In high school, he started making stuff up to try and seem cooler. I'd call him out on his lies and he'd just lie to cover his butt 😒 I stopped talking to him for a while, and we drifted apart from there. 2) My little sister 😩 When she was in high school, she made up a bunch of BS to try and seem badass. She took one of our mom's sonogram pictures to school, claiming to be pregnant, and then CONVENIENTLY have a "miscarriage."

Sounds like my ex. Lies about everything, even things i was involved with. Like, he never hit me. He was comforting me and the police only took him to jail because he's the male. The cops also stood there and watched me beat him while he curled into a ball on the ground because I'm a woman. If he lies like this to me about things he's done to me I can only imagine what he tells other people. Everything he has ever told me has been a lie

There was a guy in our school who (after I and 2 other guys said we were born in late 2006 instead of 2007) said they were born 2005 but this just quickly lead to our conclusion "either you lied or you had to repeat a grade" and he just denied both. There was also a time between two months were he told a story witch evolved like this. -I beat up a 5th grader (our current grade at the time) -I beat up a 6th grader -I beat up a high schooler -I beat up an adult

Had a best friend who lied about everything and that she was in near death experiences multiple times over the course of 10 years. She had a fake boyfriend that she got engaged to and then broke up. She lied about being born in Germany and knowing German. I had to confront her 3 times for her to finally admit to me and even so she was still lying about a few things I knew about. And yet she completely cold-shouldered me for struggling mentally while in a very abusive relationship when we were seniors in high school and has never forgiven me for that. She was really passive aggressive and I felt I walked on egg shells with her for our entire childhood, glad I don’t have that negativity in my life anymore.

My sister has a "friend" who tells the most outrageous lies to get sympathy and attention. Her latest round of tales (they change constantly) is claiming her parents would feed her and her younger siblings heroin and other unknown addictive drugs everyday so they would remain weak and wouldn't run away from home. She claimed an ex put drugs in her drink to rape her but of course she couldn't report him or get a tox screen because his family was friends with everyone who had any sort of authority to do anything about it...all the cops and the doctors at the hospital and his superiors in the military...basically everyone was in on the big conspiracy to cover up what he did. She also claimed a former friend would drug her food on a regular basis to steal money from her...Basically every single person she used to know but is no longer around would drug her to take advantage of her somehow and she had a million excuses for why she couldn't do anything to stop them. I think it was partly to cover up a drug addiction and claim it wasn't her fault but mainly to get attention because she'll tell a different round of lies whenever she meets a new person....she's highly manipulative and tailors her lies to evoke the biggest emotional response from the person she's telling them to, its really disgusting.

Honestly, that’s not a bad thing to be. I’ve gotten into the mindset of “believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see”. People can claim lots of things, but without definitive proof it’s suspect. And being an eyewitness has been proven unreliable. And even when recorded, there’s always the possibility what you’re seeing is only part of the picture

I had a friend in high school that was a pathological liar. Normally, I just played along, like one of the Redditors in this video suggested, but there was one lie of hers that I just couldn't let slide... She was always insistent that her family owned a rocket launcher (we conveniently were never allowed to see it, because it was dangerous, and she would always change the subject when I recommended taking a picture) and it had accidentally gone off in the living room once, blowing a hole through the roof. I called her out, saying that the rocket would have exploded, but fucking IMMEDIATELY she was like, "luckily it was a dud" or something like that. That's what was scary about her. She was actually a REALLY good liar whenever her lies didn't have a stupid premise. I just looked up at the ceiling, and it was obvious that NO damage like that had EVER happened. But by that point, I knew she was just going to say, "my dad's REALLY good at these kind of repairs, so you can hardly tell!" or something to that effect, so I just dropped it. Needless to say, none of us are friends with her anymore. 🤣

When I was a nightclubbing 18 year old, there was this guy who started turning up. I think he was related to one of the group. He was an utter tool and could not tell the truth to save his life. He kept pointing at women in the club and claiming he'd had sex with them. After about the 4th time he did this, I raised my voice so loud everyone in the club heard and said to him "you have NOT have sex with ME". I was usually quiet as a mouse but I wasn't going to have my reputation besmirched but that tool. A couple of months later, he suddenly disappeared then I saw him on the other side of the street a few years later. He looked rough. I had a strong feeling he'd been in prison and he was really gullible so he would have been easy meat for someone looking for a fall guy.

Lol. There is this girl at works that lies about why she didn't come to work various time. Her latest excuse was that she was driving. Not "I had plans that ended later than expected," not "Yeah, traffic was terrible today," not even "I had a doctor's appointment." My manager is pretty lax with the rules and would've probably forgiven her if she just had given him a call or text, but nope, she instead gave him a bs excuse and showed up an hour and a half late without notice.

TLDR: Annoying first grader tells outrageous stories about poo. Nothing major, but at the time it was frustrating. I was in fifth grade, and there was this Kindergarten or 1st grade (I can't remember which) girl on the bus. Now, our bus was a decommissioned, german, city bus. So the second row had two seats facing backwards, and two facing forwards for a group of 4, and kids would randomly get them based off of who got on the bus first. This girl and her friends cut in line to get the 4-seat area. (Not much but annoying.) Now, about the 'liar' part. She claimed many outrageous things, most of which involved poo, and everyone 3rd grade and below believed her. (That part was actually kind of weird, it was almost a perfect division of 3rd and below believed her, with maybe 1-2 exceptions.) Her stories that I can remember: Hid in a bush next to the road, and when a car came by, ran out into the street, and pooed on the bottom of the car, her dad pooped his pants. (Most likely true, we were all babies), she went poo in the toilet and her sisters face was in the toilet so she pooped on her sisters face. She flew up to a (MOVING) plane in a parachute.
