Definitely the nicest looking bike in the 350 range. I would still prefer the Meteor as a daily rider. If people are complaining about the lack of power, they most likely do not get this bike at all. When i sold my CB125e, I was toying with adding a 350 to the fleet for daily duties. Still may get one down the track.

It's a fantastic looking bike, but I wouldn't ever consider owning one because of the power & weight figures. Don't get me wrong, I love a small low power bike. In fact I have a KTM Duke 200 & Yamaha 225 Scorpio in my garage next to my Aprilia & ride them both regularly. But, while the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 has over 50% more torque than my similarly air cooled Scorpio, it can only manage 1 extra hp despite having a 125 cc capacity advantage. The Bullet 350 also weighs 50 kg more than the Scorpio. Add that up & it leads me to believe that Royal Enfield have deliberately tuned the engine to be under-stressed due to heavier metals & lower quality components used in the engine in comparison to the Scorpio. And that doesn't bode well for its long term reliability.
@BikerTorque
@BikerTorque 2 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing. I think reliability wont be an issue, they have been making these type of lower capacity bikes for years. I have had my Meteor for 3 years now, absolutely no issues at all, although admittedly it hasn’t done a lot of kms, only about 10,000, due me having other bikes and also these press bikes, time will tell I suppose. I will have to check out the Scorpio, it’s not a model I am familiar with.

I have a bullet for last 10 years (with UCE, which isn't that refined as compared to the new J-series one). My uncle and many of his peers have Bullets, which were atleast 3 decades old (CI Engine). So, I don't see reliability is an issue.
@punchbuggyyellow7097
@punchbuggyyellow7097 2 ай бұрын
@@Antony_Shamarjit_Lee Age is not an indicator of reliability. My Yamaha Scorpio is 16 years old, but it's only done just over 17,000 km, so it's barely been tested. I just sold my '06 Kawasaki ER-6F that'd done just over 100,000 km. A blown Stator was all that I had to replace in the motor in 18 years of ownership. Even the clutch plates are the original factory fitted ones, so that's my baseline expectation for reliability. In contrast, I recently bought an '08 Aprilia Shiver with 66,000 km & it's on its second engine. Admittedly it's had a harder life based on its looks, but the original engine didn't even last 2/3rds of the life of my Kawasaki's before it gave up the ghost & had to be replaced.

I don't understand the " brakes are adequate for the power of the bike" thing. I hear it often in bike reviews. If I'm needing to go from 100km to 0 who the hell cares if the bike has 10hp or 100hp? I need the damage thing to stop. Not do a 0-100 time check. Either the brakes work well or they don't. Horsepower has nothing to do with it. Speed, weight, and traction are what is in play here. Not hp. Not GPS. Not seat height. Just will the dawn thing stop.
@BikerTorque

Any modern bike's brake are powerful enough to stop the bike. The reason sport bikes have big brakes is because they are designed to decelerate hard and accelerate hard repeatedly, within a short timeframe. You can imagine a bike that goes 0-60 in 3 seconds with a top speed of 180 needs to be designed to handle more braking energy than a bike that goes 0-60 in 12 seconds with a top speed of 70. No bike's brakes have to dissipate more power than the engine can produce.
@goatman3828
@goatman3828 Ай бұрын
@zachary3777 I understand that. Formula 1 brake demands are (my guess) a thousand times more demanding than a daily driver. But the fact remains that if your sport bike and my put-put bike are both going 70 mph down the highway and we suddenly need to stop to avoid a moose in the road, the breaking needs are the same. In actual real world functionality having 20 hp or 200 hp doesn't matter. Both bikes need their brakes to function equally. So engine size or engine power, as a basis for determining how well the brakes work on a street bike is just hyperbole.

I really like the Classic also, but there is just something about the Bullet that appeals to me. Everyone will see and like something different I suppose. Thanks for watching

Why buy a new one? They are going for cheap prices on the used market. My BSA C-15 250 singles put out more HP and are 100 lbs lighter. They cruise at 60 mph 2 up all day smooth as silk. No electronics waiting to have a expensive failure. EFI makes bikes run hot 🔥🥵 as Hades and cooks the oil to ☠️. Once you replace all the cheap parts it's not a inexpensive bike no more. In the west it's a toy for weekend jaunts. The old 500 had more HP, hydraulic valve adjustment and a kicker. The older bike had more value for the money and lower servicing costs because you don't have to mess with the valve adjustment. All export 350 should have belt drive. Belts last 100,000+ and are cleaner and cheaper than a chain drive.

Pretty sure these use a synthetic or semi synthetic oil, doubt it would cook. Same engine as my Meteor, no issues so far after 3 years

@@BikerTorque That is still masking a symptom but not addressing the cause. Heat is an engine worst enemy. How many miles are on the bike? My Sportster with a carburetor runs cool in Florida in the summer 🌞⛱️. 200* oil temp. I have had my Sportster for 25 years and 400,000 miles on the original engine and 37 back tires and 17 front ones and 3 belts in 25 years. My daily driver as I don't have a car. No problem with engine heat.
