Such things are not too difficult to add on via aftermarket supplies. Perfect platform for adding elements of luxury to. Let's face it, if you like good tunes, you want good audio solutions to convert away from dollar store grade audio. There is a market for upgrades, and all vehicle manufacturers should also offer choices in grade of components from the tires on up. I want adjustable suspension and will source it out, better audio, logical insulation so a heater wont have to drain the power, maybe a better grade of steering wheel, seat covering, laser cut 3M exterior protection film because it's better than not having it even if not travelling above the slow speed of the transaxle. Oh, even those transaxles can be upgraded should someone want it to go faster, but faster does mean more running costs, insurance for example.

@MooseOnEarth10 ай бұрын
7:10 - PTC = Positive Temperature Coefficient. It is a resistive heater in this electric car. The PTC aspect of it is a technical one: at first the heater will draw a high power. When the heater then heats up, its resistance will rise with temperature (therefore: positive coefficient: higher temperature higher resistance) and it will draw less power. This way, it regulates itself. It is the standard way to do simple air heaters like in a hairdryer. The unmarked switch may be for an accessory like seat heating or rear fog light. The A/C button is photoshopped out on the web site, so it is likely not functional on purpose. Still, you should have looked it up in the owners manual, that all products sold are required to be delivered with.

Sure you can't do the illegal stuff like skip through bollards but you can do 70mph and have a range of around 70 miles. They are a hoot to drive and perfect for the city.
@liamness10 ай бұрын
I'm not even sure if driving through the bollards is illegal. There's no signage indicating that you can't drive through there, it's just that most cars (even back in the 70s when these bollards were installed) would not be physically able to fit through.
@joe-s5r10 ай бұрын
That Smart ForTwo is ten years old. Apples to oranges. They're £16,420 new, and everyone knows that you take a hit once you drive out of a showroom, especially since its ten-year-old battery would cost another £6k to replace if it's near dead. You could buy another Dogood for that, or replace the battery in your old one since it would be a third of the cost since it's less than a third the capacity at 4.8Kw as opposed to 17.6Kw in the Smart ForTwo. Obviously used cars are better value, and you'd probably be lucky to get £1k for a ten year Dogood if they existed.
@turbokadett10 ай бұрын
@@joe-s5rI disagree, both are small city cars for £6k so apples to apples in my book, one vehicle is a fulley fledged car from an established manufacturer, the other is a rebadged Chinese microcar. My current EV is even older (13 years old) and it also returns book range.
@joe-s5r10 ай бұрын
@@turbokadett You can't seem to comprehend that there's a difference between new and used. Those cars were £16,420 new. You'd pay up to £250k for a new Merc Maybach, but you can pick up a ten year old roller for under £39k. The RR badge has more cachée, and there's more legroom for you and your chauffeur. And you will probably be able to pick up a ten year old Doggod in future for £1k. That's heaps cheaper than the latest showroom price of a Smart Fortwo of £22,225. That's over 22 times the price for a smrt since we are allowed to compare today's new price to a ten year old car that's been stunk up by someone else.

Its a worthy purchase. If you wanna dial in the luxury features afterwards, its a perfect platform of which to do so. All the fasteners seems accessible without too much effort. I wanna see shows demonstrating a complete tear down and reassembly, and that will take care of concerns about how to upgrade anything about such a vehicle. There's alot of ways to mod these, people wanna know how to, or be of no mystery of the process of ownership and repairs. All manufacturers should include a parts list including prices of each part, a list of factory options including prices of each of those too. This is how to protect the ecosystem, matching solutions to the people who want to be more responsible for their actions.

I think Micro Cars are great for Cities, though I am wondering if this is really only usefull for single people. If you are a couple, or especially kids that you need to bring to places, the space available is quite limited. Since you often need passanger space and cargo space. So, if you need a full sized car, having a microcar would have to be your 2nd car. Then the question becomes, is it really more usefull then just taking public transit? I would love to see someone who lives in a city, compare using a micro car vs public transit for a month. Ideally over a year, to compare seasons and different weather. I am still thinking its a just a gimick.

My ebike which I bought new for 700 quid (so just for under 1/10th the price) looks to actually have more storage via its pannier rack, front basket etc. if having a 'proper vehicle that is electric' is the focis I'd spend the 6 grand on a dual battery super soco TC max for better speed & range. Obvs for the same price range you can get anything cheaper that is petrol/diesel but if I had the budget an emotorbike is where I'd lean at the moment over one of these

So much to like about this. A properly covered cabin, good windscreens and a properly economical price. I hope that the thing does not grow a whole lot of additional and un-necessary extras. Bare bones and economical is what is needed by so many people. I do wonder if instead of ULEZ the traffic controls in cities ought to have a charge for any vehicle weighing more than say 1,200 kg, and a multiplier for widths over 1.5 metres and length over 3.5, EV or not. ICE cars and light commercials are going to disappear in time, simply because they will become worn out, and too expensive to run for fuel and servicing. There is an element that refuses to see the opportunities in change, there is an awful lot of doom mongering about EVs. But smaller EVs must be one of the real counter arguments to this. I suppose the Microline will be the posh sub-mini EV and this will be an example of economy EV personal transport. Please don't call me cheap, but even as I adore the [for me aspirational] Microlino, sense would kick in and I'd definitely consider one of these at retirement in four and half years time. Till then I need a van so will still stick with my 2009 Berlingo. The electric Berlingo would make a good review for you, Jack! I'd enjoy watching that if you decided to try it out!
