I am a bit surprised by this being called a new car. The first i heard about the Burton electric was in 2011 as an option from Burton them self (they are in Zutphen in the Netherlands by the way). Now i have looked it up and as it turns out 2CV Mehari Club Cassis has bought Burton in 2022 but have let them largely operate independently. So i guess the only "real" innovation here is that in stead of it being a kit car based on a 2CV chassis its is (going to be) a production car based on a kit car based on a 2CV. I do like the whole idea of it all. We actually had the 2CV from my in-laws as a wedding car.

Watching this video some years down the road is interesting. Having recently become an owner of an EQC 1886, the emphasis on comfort, quietness and speed in a straight line resonates with me. The comment on range was, shall we say, optimistic! I am enjoying the car - my first Mercedes Benz and my first EV.

Electrifying older cars for town/city-only travel makes a lot of of sense because new cars are subject to too many rules and regulations which are paradoxical for a car that never does more than 30mph.

What has been written or/and said here is.. I wouldn't say right or wrong, but there's one thing missing; What can we do to reduce CO2 emissions until we all can use renewable electric energy for transportation? Use of E-fuel is one thing we can do today and that can't be said about use of electric cars. I use HVO100 in my diesel ICE car which reduces the net CO2 emissions by 85% including pollution from production - and not buying an electric car will reduce my overall CO2 footprint significantly. Regarding particles and NOx; they aren't contributing to the greenhouse effect and should be considered being a local environmental issue that should be taken care of separately from the issue of climate change. To ban production and use of E-fuels is counterproductive as long as we have nothing to replace it with and that the net pollution result is positive. On top of that, there aren't capacity enough available to build electric cars (or electricity for that matter) for all of us anyway... If anyone can explain how we, personally, can reduce greenhouse gas emissions except from everyone buying an electric car, taking the train or a tram, walking or biking, please give me your advice. I'm 78 yrs old and will soon be gone anyway - living outside any urban area - but I worry about our children... Lastly, I believe we need all available technology until we've solved the problem of transportation sustainably.
