I would like to add, that QDC has been making it so easy for ppl applying that they accept a salary letter that is addressed to an embassy. I did that my self and was able to get the license 😀

Lol what a video Richard. I was laughing at the drinking incident. The whole QDC card and the permits are kinda complicated but I guess that’s how things are there. What did you do on weekends there? Any desert camping experience. Thanks for the video!

Can I bring alcohol at Doha from duty free at Doha airport ?
@bankruptpensioner
@bankruptpensioner 10 ай бұрын
Hi Atul, thanks for the comment. Good question and I don’t know. I suspect if it is available, then you can but I can’t remember there being alcohol available as one enters Doha. Others on the channel may be able to confirm this?

im going to WorldCup how do u think. qatar will handle wild FIFA fans like UK fans, Mexico fans they love making noise lol, im coming from NY it should be very interesting how qatar handles drunk fans 😂

Hi Z, it is going to be very interesting. Qatari police are very passive. I assumed that some police from other countries would be shipped into Qatar to help woth the world cup. Qatar is a quiet place and having screaming fans is going to be a lot of fun for the country. Can't wait to see what happens. And then there is the crazy prices on accomodation - so crazy it is as if Qatar does not want any fans in the country

@@dronestrikejr hey! Yep you will go straight to jail 😂😂. The policing is very simple and I have seen this on one occasion where jail is the only way forward. My favourite bar for Heineken was Champions in the Marriot in central Doha, west bay. Great bar and the hot chicken wings are to die for. Hope you have a great time and I am sure you will. Plenty of extra curricular options in Champions as well 😉

Do you Still live there? Is that qatari wallpaper? Bit dated eh?

@bankruptpensioner Жыл бұрын
Hi Rickster. I don't live there anymore however, I was out in Qatar to meet up with friends last week. I will be creating a new video over the next few days on that experience so do subscribe if not already have done. Wallpaper - this is in Britain and the room has been designed to represent the 1970's. Not my choice but I am not the boss on that kind of thing. Many people comment on this when I am in Team calls :)

Is beer cheaper with resident visa?
@bankruptpensioner
@bankruptpensioner Жыл бұрын
Noooo - all the same price. The rules have relaxed recently and more restaurants are selling alcohol. This is a good thing as it will bring in more tourists. The prices are still quite high. Last week, I paid £10 for a 330ml bottle of Peroni. Good job I don't drink that much :)

@@bankruptpensioner I like the occasional beer but would begrudge those prices. Is it much cheaper in the shop that you're allowed to buy alcohol from
@bankruptpensioner
@bankruptpensioner Жыл бұрын
@@ricksterk7014 QDC. Yes, the shop is cheaper and to obtain a licence is easier as well from your sponsor. Good point. Also, a new QDC shop has opened in West Bay making it easier for those who live and work in that area to shop for alcohol and pork.

How can I find a job in Qatar? I am US citizen and a hair stylist
@bankruptpensioner
@bankruptpensioner Жыл бұрын
Hi Parisa. Many thanks for the comment. Speak to your local job agent. They can help you find the right agent for working abroad. You can then focus down on Qatar and understand the opportunities within Doha. It will be Doha that you are looking at for sure. Most of your demand will come from Qataris and Westerners. Indians and Philipinos will generally manage their hair within their own communities. However, there are many western women working in Doha. You could also yellow page stylists in Doha. You could reach out by email and see if they will sponsor you to go over to Qatar. Mant options really. Hope this helps.

Hi Ahmad, many thanks for your comment. Personally, I do not drink alcohol however, that is my choice rather that dictation of belief. Drinking is not uncivilised in fact, if it were not for beer, there is a great chance that we would not be here as in the past, water was so dirty that it was undrinkable, hence the creation of beer. All cultures who survived through the last 6000 years have used beer as their daily fluid. If they had drank available water, then they would have died. It os only over the past 100 years that water has become drinkable to the masses through science and the cleaning of such water. Science has brought this forward and in fact, if it were not for this, we would all still be drinking beer. You might find this following summary interesting on the history of beer: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_beer

@@bankruptpensioner I agree that in the past there was a function for alcohol, the Quran even agrees that there is some benefit, but it says, the problems it causes far outweigh the benefits from it. Also, religion, at least in Islam, is always a matter of choice (that's what the Quran teaches). I'm glad you do not drink, I'm sure your life is better without it. The social benefits are clear, even from the world cup in Qatar, which is being called the most family friendly event ever because of the lack of alcohol.
