The thing with Filipinos in general, when you show us respect and love, we give it back. We do not discriminate a whole race based on mere stereotypes. You show us respect, we give it back to you. As simple as that. We definitely respect our elders and the elderly and women are old fashioned to some respect. I myself believe in a patriarchal society but that doesn't make us weak because of that mentality. Men to me, are supposed to make a living, while women should help raise the children and the household but it doesn't mean we have to quit our jobs to serve our husband hand and foot. We value our independence also. So balance is key... . This has been a very interesting interview. I enjoyed watching it..

@Jenny - That's Not 🚫 totally True! Respect!🙄 It has nothing to do with that because many that are respectful to Filipino are treated poorly just like many Filipino abroad in the middle east or other countries may be being treated poorly by the locals there despite their respecting them to the highest degree. Everyone on these vlogs wants to make Filipino As a Whole seem flawless and words like "Honest" and "Hardworking" are used, what a JoKe 🤣🤣🤣 are most Taxi driver's in Manila not Filipino? Are Carpenters not Filipino? There are people that do wrong everywhere including the Philippines. All one must do is really be Truthful about the injustice discrimination and hatred that goes on in many places in the world and especially as well in the Philippines. Respect is always a word used that even many racist have used currently and in years past. Say that you personally haven't experienced it doesn't mean it's not happening! And yes i know of experiences of what some might call less fortunate Filipino that have been discriminated against by other Filipino! Two many examples to list here, many that are personal!
@chaz3257
@chaz3257 2 жыл бұрын
@Jenny - Generally speaking I agree with your statement about your respecting your Filipino elders! But Not 🚫 all elders especially those that are Foreigners and definitely not those of a darker complexion especially Africans and maybe Indians as well.

For someone who's lived in both countries, in my opinion the difference between two country could be easily summed up by collectivism vs. individualism. These two practices is what shaped the attitudes of each countries citizens, and it's easily recognizable the second you step foot in both countries.

As far as I can remember, when there is a visitor in our house, my late grandma always tells me to buy a soft drink and some bread to offer to the visitor. When we are broke, we just buy some bread and mix some orange juice powder on cold water then serve it to the visitor. When some stranger who comes from manila or somewhere wants to use our toilet, we always let them use it. I live now in the middle east with my family and I feel nostalgic

He cant do that in the US so he goes to the philippines preying on poor gullible women.

Not sure what tip your looking for, I am not an expert (lol) in the P.I living as I've not live there for the last 30 years but in terms of business there, I know people close to me who have done well operating a mobile BBQ manok or Baboy francise or a washing machine biz taking in 15-30K pesos a mo. and initial investment is not much @ $10K US. Also, once you get to P.I network with like minded business people as they have tons of ideas to share, P.I is active and has great support for small biz operators, the gov't runs a qtr biz faire in and around the islands called "NEGOSIO" the helps new biz enterpreuners hit the ground running. For you look like you are still along ways from collecting SS so you definitely need to get a biz going in order to survive there unless you have $$$ reserved to last till you get to 62 yrs old. I kinda went around from running a biz there and instead established a biz here that will support me while I live there in P.I. GL!

I hear a lot of people here talking about racism in the country where they're from and why they would like to move to the Philippines. I get that. I'm Filipino American living in San Diego California. have i experienced racism here in the US? Yes i have. Did it stop me from living my life? Hell no. Fight back. Don't let anyone step on you. You see the problem nowadays is people all over the world especially in highly industrialized countries like the West( US, Canada, Australia, UK, Europe, etc) is that everyone is so highly sensitive, underinformed and is full of hatred. Both sides of the political spectrum are no longer listening to each other and both are so manipulative. I blame the media and the governments for this.

Wow I kind of understand how your guest Sunshine Shoulders feel. I work in the financial services too. Not exactly in sales like an insurance agent or financial advisor but still it can be a very grinding type of work. I guess it really depends what state you live in because I honestly would have a hard time leaving Hawaii even for another State so I was surprised but at the same time I have never been or live in his state of Kentucky to compare it to the Philippines. I think one thing that entices me to try other countries is the cost of living and having my $$ stretch while having the opportunity to experience something completely different in the process. I’m sure if I were to become a digital nomad I would like to come back home to Hawaii as there would be too many things I would miss especially the food. I was reading your older replies on the comment section that you would like to try Norway one day but the budget is not there yet but would you consider Eastern Europe once the war in Ukraine kind of ends? I watched videos that countries like Poland and Lithuania can be very affordable at value too.

Foreigners are welcome in the philippnes any time you want to visit or live cuz the living expenses is not that higher as foreign countries...and you can afford to buy house and lot, you can run your own business if u want to...but remember you should follow our cultures, rules and regulations and the most important is respect to all filipinos whether they are high class or low class. Don't worry guys most filipinos are kind, considerate, generous and respectful.

Everyone has their reasons for leaving the states. Speaking for myself and only for me, I would not trade my home in California for the Philippines. I am here off and on but not permanently. I have my lifelong friends back home in Cal. I have all of my relatives there. That is just the beginning. I can go see the LA Dodgers play at Dodger Stadium. I could see the Oakland Raiders play now in Las Vegas. I could go to any of the nice beaches without having to get on a plane. I could go to Mexico or Canada anytime. There is just so much more to see and do n the states than here. My Filipina wife will move to California with me once her parents pass away. They are nice and speak English . I wish I could take them with me to California but theywould never leave the Philippines. They love to fly in airlines like Cebu Pacific. I have taken them to Manila and Cebu and they enjoy the plane ride more than the cities. For those foreigners who have found a new home in the Philippines, I say, "fine, I'm glad you're happy". I want to eat authentic Italian cuisine. I want to eat authentice Mexican food. I want to go to the big music concerts in the states. I can't if I'm hre. No, there is no comparison. Sorry. Oh, and by the way, my wife wants to play in the snow once she gets to the states. We get snow in the local ountains every winter. Just a little over an hours drive. Then back down to sunny California.
