The thing is, if you have money, life in the Philippines is soooo much easier than anywhere else in the world. Except for the traffic of course that sucks. People are very chill and adapts well. Filipino people in general love making others feel welcome. Specially guests. That's the culture. We adjust so they would be comfortable. In other countries, they don't really care. I mean, they're nice but lol Filipinos go out of their way to make their guests feel comfortable no matter how unpractical or uncomfortable they get. Heck, we used to offer our rooms to strangers and the fam would sleep together in one room lol. That's the way we're wired. Too bad when we go to other countries, the treatment is very different. It's sad sa totoo lang. Pero ganon tayo e. Nahahappy tayo and feeling validated kapag umuwing masaya yung bisita. 🤣🥲

i suggest living in Batangas or Davao city depends on what language your husband comfortable speaking like is he a cebuano or tagalog or kapampangan (cause not all Filipino speak English or tagalog) it would be more suitable for both of you living close to relatives since they can show you around the area and help assist you moving, and advice not living in Manila Makati taguig or Muntinlupa cause its very crowded and the air quality isnt great

Hello from Urdaneta City, Pangasinan Province, Luzon, Philippines. I've been in the Philippines about 6 years. Originally from the US New Hampshire Seacoast. About a week before I leave the US. It's hilarious but an honest truth about some Filipino families who are very closed knit up to the 3rd or 4th degree cousins or other relatives. But if you're living in the city like Manila, most families tend to be more independent because mostly are educated. We are glad that most foreigners have liked and loved our beautiful country and you won't get into trouble if you'll also be good to the Filipino people.

I have been across the USA and have traveled to Canada and The Philippines. In terms of public safety. Like Ray, I prefer Philippines over the USA or other nations. I had to watch my back when I walked in Manhattan, South Chicago, South Philly, East Seattle, Downtown Los Angeles, Gastown in Vancouver, Tenderloin in San Francisco. When walked around near Tondo in Manila past midnight, I did not need that much alertness!

Great video, and I would love to meet Ray one day. He seems like a nice guy, and thanks for his service to include the American Legion. I've lived in the Philippines since 2004 as a retired disabled US Navy veteran. My wife and I bought a titled house from an American that lived here more than 50 years. We really like Barrio Barretto, because it's near the beach and between Olongapo and Subic.

Quentin, fellow Navy brother, most restrictions are lifted now, if you are vaccinated and boosted! If not, you just need to do a few things! 1. One health pass 2. Take a PCR test before coming 3. Not needed, but I would still get travel insurance! As soon as I send most of my little saved property to my fiancee2wife, Charlie sister's house for us! I shortly send myself for Good too! Hope this helps! Best of luck to you & travel safe! Hooyah & Hua(Spent time in the Army too) God bless all! Yes, Si, Oui, Oo( tagalog and philipino for Yes)

It's a whole lot easier to get your disability claim approved here in the Philippines than back in the states. My friend was stationed in Subic back in the day, he moved to the Philippines probably 7 years ago and he got his 100% disability which is well over 3K a month. He said there's to much red tape in the states and it gets pushed through much quicker here.

The US$ exchange rate favors them. If you got 2k pension. Thats’s approximately ₱100,000 a month. You’ll be upper middle class. This guy has a 6k pension that’s ₱300,000 a month. A corporate CEO average salary is around ₱400,000 for reference. That dude is rich based on PH standards. That’s why he owns 2 houses. Plus his restaurant gives him extra monthly income. Which would help support his family and 2 kids when he’s gone.

I was totally surprised by the info I learned from the outtake at the end of this video. I never knew those details before that there are around 400 thousand (almost half a million) US Vets living in the whole Philippines. Mind you, we're not even counting foreigners (non-US Vets) from the US and from other countries that are actually living right now (who preferred to live, work and/or retire) here in the Philippines.

Your guest brings up a great topic, deciding to die over seas. I am curious why nobody discusses deciding to die over seas. Dying is the one experience we will all share at some point, and I am sure not everyone decides to return home to die.
