I just visited Arizona from August 13 to August 20, 2023. I simply fell in LOVE with Arizona. Went to Monument Valley, Grand Canyon Skywalk and Sedona. I'm from Puerto Rico and this was my first solo trip. But it wasn't enough for me, I want more. So I'm planning to visit Arizona again as soon as possible ($$$) to enjoy its small towns and hidden gems. Thanks so much for sharing all this information in your videos. They are my travel guides.💖👍

I visited Payson back in 2016 and loved it. My wife and I stayed at a very rustic but modern lodge called Kohl's Ranch Lodge. We reserved a cabin with wood burning fireplace and a year round creek that runs behind all the cabins. We then had a real estate agent drive us around Payson looking at homes. But everything in my budget had us in the fixer upper category. But the real beauty was the towns you spoke of like Happy Jack, Strawberry and Pine. I hope to eventually make my way there in the near future. We got a brand newly built home in Nevada, since my goal was to escape the rancedness of Los Angeles CA, as I vowed to never return to such an upside down tyrannical state like commiefornia.

My wife and I retired here in AZ 3 years ago and we just enjoy visiting these little towns. We've visited 5 of the ten and we live in #6. Your videos are partly the reason we chose to retire here. The main reason is my son and his wife live here. Thanks for the videos.

I got one for ya. In 1973 I use to hitchhike up to Jerome. I'd just walk around the old house's. Pick out one that looked sound. Explore it, they were left open back then and most of them were vacant, seriously! Then I'd pick one and sleep there in the abandoned house. Can't do that anymore, most of the big buildings were abandoned too. The hospital, big apartment building on top. Dam few people back then. Jim BCC AZ

Jerome is by far one of my favorite places to visit in Arizona. I swear there is something truly magical about the Arizona mountain deserts in combination with the clear blue skies. It's almost like another planet. It's what keeps me coming back to visit every summer. Still need to see Tombstone and Oatman.

Are you serious? Jerome is nothing but a tourist trap. The locals are laughing.

@@bellestarr6484 I've been to Jerome a handful of times and it's never been a tourist trap. Maybe you're confused? The locals are laughing? Good for them.

I just visited Arizona from August 13 to August 20, 2023. I simply fell in LOVE with Arizona. Went to Monument Valley, Grand Canyon Skywalk and Sedona, as well as a quick visit to Kingman and Seligman (Those two weren't originally in my plans, but they just "pop up" in my way so I took the chance and visited them briefly. So glad I did! 😍) I'm from Puerto Rico and this was my first solo trip. But it wasn't enough for me, I want more. So I'm planning to visit Arizona again as soon as possible ($$$) to enjoy its small towns and hidden gems. Thanks so much for sharing all this information in your videos. I grew up in a small town called Concho. It's about 48 minutes north of Show Low. It's starting to grow a little more, but it's got a booming town history during the 1950s, & I think (if I remember correctly) it used to be an old fort town. There's technically two parts of Concho; Old Concho & Concho Valley. While I grew up there, it was more popular for being a retirement town. And like any old "ghost towns", it has its share of ghost stories, including it's own version of La Llorona & the old dance hall where the devil would dance (it burnt down once he was discovered, & then the San Rafael Catholic Church was built on the hall's remains).

My father in law and his brothers were born in Jerome at what is now called the Jerome Grand Hotel. It was a hospital back in the 1930's. My wife put together a book from the pictures her grandmother took back then, it was in the lobby of the hotel the last time we were there. My wife has many ancestors buried at the cemetery in Clarkdale. We have talked about moving to the Verde Valley some day, we really like the Cottonwood area.

Yeah that's pretty awesome and seeing Arizona all over the place north south east and west is pretty great, and I agree with you about getting out and seeing the state instead of watching negative television, I'd love to do more but I can't afford the gas anymore on a fixed income, but definitely do more small-town videos, and Arizona is a great state to live in, I been in Southern Arizona since 1970 March.

I'm shocked that you didn't add Crown King. The drive up is gorgeous and the town is nice. BTW, Oatman is a huge, big no. I was excited to see that town during a road trip through Arizona, and since I'm a horse gal I wanted to see the donks, but the town is actually crappy (kinda literally) and gives off a really unpleasant, bad vibe. The donkeys are cute, though. It was the absolute biggest disappointment of the road trip. By far, my favorite was Jerome. I wish we could have stayed another day to hike around and explore. We stayed in Grand Hotel with an amazing view over the valley towards Sedona. Absolutely a gem of a small town. Bisbee is nice. My dad was raised in Wickenburg, and used to own a restaurant there.
