I appreciate that! Yes I do think I would’ve benefited from something like this at an earlier age myself 😄

Starting this year, ministry of education Ontario introduces Financial Accounting Fundamentals , this as a compulsory subject at grade 11 class. Up till now, most kids are learned and guided by their parents.

I saved $40K as an international student in Canada over 8 months by doing two internships and freelancing remotely. I try to keep my monthly expenses below $1.8K by cooking most meals and only eating out once or twice a week, and I split rent with a housemate. The 8 months were intense and definitely not sustainable, but I figured it would give me a good cushion for emergency funds or for investing. I was mainly worried as I will be graduating this year and entering the Canadian job market, so this amount of $ is giving me peace of mind.

How did you find the freelancing jobs? I was trying to apply via INDEED AND GLASSDOR. So far I haven't been successful. Hope you will share your success story with me 🙏

That's something to emulate! Really impressive. I can imagine it's not sustainable in the long run, like you said. But it's a great strategy for the short term, as you did, for a year or two.

Awesome advice, except for #2 I’d say if you get the right kind of woman you’ll get rich even faster. Emphasize on right.

1500 a month is 3/4s of my monthly income. Normal people can't save 10k in 8 months. They might be able to get 5k in 12 months if they cut expenses to the bone and skip meals here and there.

This falls into the category of "cutting out unnecessary expenses", but for those who have vices, like smoking, drinking, gambling and every other type of vice and addiction, you really need to re-evaluate the allocation of those dollars.

Am confused by get a credit card for credit score and then also save..i earn minimum wage more or less... another question can I use money from the credit card to save and invest!
@hellokurisu
@hellokurisu Ай бұрын
Getting a credit card will start growing your credit score, granted you keep it around 30-40% utilization and pay it off every month. The reason why your want to grow your credit score is because in the future you can apply for better credit cards which have good cashback features for your spendings.

Living pay cheque to pay cheque is horrible, I wouldn't be able to sleep. I've always maintained enough savings to last me years if I ever couldn't work.
