Amtrack would be an option if you wanted to take a train. Have yet to meet anyone who finds that option as their go to commute route.

It’s ok for leisure travel - but not geared for time sensitive commuter travel in Oregon currently. Seattle metro area for instance has “The Sounder” commuter train runs daily between Tacoma, etc. and Seattle. Mass transit commuters between city’s in Oregon likely use more frequent & reliable bus services. (See may reply on query below for more re: these Amtrak services).

You’ll want to check the Amtrak schedule for the train originating in Eugene for Northbound travel, & the train originating in Portland for Southbound travel! I’ve been stuck waiting, & waiting for hours on end for the train out of LA especially, or from Vancouver BC etc. (due to all the rail hiccups over longer distances.) The PNW, perhaps the entire West coast has more limited runs than the East coast for instance.
