Johannesbourg, the assembly point of the whole South Africa! Yes it does look like the TV Tower at Alexanderplatz in Berlin. Built at the end of the sixties, copying a Soviet design, this prestige-project was the fourth-highest free-standing structure in the world then and is still today the highest structure in Germany. In 1987 my mother and I went there to ride to the top but, since the quere was very long, we turned around. The friendly East-German public, however, realising we were visitors took us to the front so we wouldn't have to wait. What a view! Unforgetable!

Rosebank has become horribly overbuilt, there are too many suburbs that have too many massive buildings Rosebank is one of them, Sandown just down the road is equally overbuilt. Remember Johannesburg is nearby being left to die which is inexcusable.

Cities need to be built up in order to grow the economy. Yes the main CBD could use more attention but even then it isn’t big enough to accommodate the size of Joburgs population so new suburbs like Rosebank and sandton are inevitable for economic development
