Just a recommendation. Plug the power cord into the camper first then go to your power pole, turn off the breaker plug your cord in then turn on the breaker. Have fun.
@roadtriplover.5 ай бұрын
That’s backwards. Plug the diagnostic surge protector into the pole first to make sure the pole is properly wired. Only after the pole is confirmed good, turn of the pole, attach other end of line to trailer and turn on the breaker. This could save your trailer’s electrical system + appliances.

Another good tip is to lock up your trailer hitch. They have items to get for this. Not saying someone would steel u trailer, but better safe then sorry.

About the 12v fridge, we have 2 campers. One with a propane fridge and one with the 12v. We only take the 12v camper when we're going to be plugged in. The one time we took it boondocking, we had to run our gas generator every day. It's just too much of a drain on the batteries and the solar couldn't keep up. The propane is so much more reliable.

First time watching! A couple of things we do. Get a socket that fits your jack and bring a battery-powered drill. Makes it so much easier. I've heard people convert their hitch jack with a nut to do the same. We just upgraded to a power hitch jack. Beats having to crank. Get walkie talkies for backing into a space and hooking up. Then the whole campground can't hear you yelling! 😊 Make sure to level side to side when using your propane fridge. Your motor should last longer. And, for sure, get sway bars and a hitch lock. We love our trailer for the reason you got yours! Let's go exploring! We base camp alot! Happy camping!

Pro travel tip. Get a stroller for your dog. It’s great especially when it comes to eating at restaurants. It raises the dog up so it’s not sitting down by your feet. It keeps the dog contained so you don’t have to worry about hanging onto a leash. It comes in handy for hiking. So definitely get the 3 wheel version. Just throwing the idea out there. We love our dog stroller!

Great video..get a trailer lock so no one can take your rig while you’re not there…and don’t ever go between the truck and the camper when guiding any rig that’s backing up…just keep to the sides..always think about safety first

We have a 2022 Winnebago with a 12v fridge. For camping with no electric hookup we would much prefer propane fridge since we continue to struggle with enough battery power even with lithium. We had good success helping to regulate temp in propane fridge by using a small fridge fan inside to circulate cold. A couple d-cells last for weeks.
@patricklittle11915 ай бұрын
Connor, I personally like and enjoy the propane/110 fridge. It takes between 2-4 hours to bring it up to temp off shore power. I have 2 recommendations for you: 1) Bring fridge up to temp before going camping. AND have all items cold going into fridge/freezer. 2) Give the propane/110 fridge a try-out before making the switch to 12 volt. I have always had the Dometic. It "sips" propane. Another thing you can consider is switching your 20 lb propane tanks to 30 lb tanks. You will have to explore your tongue weight and other necessitating variables.

Agree with above about power cord. Make sure breaker on power pole is off, plug in and, once your surge protector has confirmed the pole is good, turn the breaker on . Great looking camper! Great way to buy too. Most owners are going to be honest with issues and if it looks good it was PROBABLY well cared for and maintained. Good for you!

I think you will love your new one so much more then old one. I would suggest get some locks for your camper for tow hitch just to lock it make it hard for anyone to steel it. Also plug in power to camper then to power pole then turn breaker on. Also watch a lot of KZbin to figure things out with your camper. That’s what we did when we get new campers. I love your new one.

Congraulations again on the trailer. It brings back lots of nice memories for me to see yours. I had the same model, but my interior had dark cabinets and a different color scheme. By the way, there are two water shutoff valves under the bathroom sink, You have to remove the four screws from the shelf below to get to them. You can't get water to the shower until you do this. I hope the seller told you about them. Remember to grease the trailer wheels every 10,000 miles. It should have grease ports on the hubs to make this easy.

So excited to see you on your first adventure, even with all trials and tribulations you experienced…you’ll get ‘r all figured out in due time as you always have before! 3 pieces of advise, for now, that I’ve learned from following a lot of YTers 1- put some stick on levels on the front and side of the trailer 2- when you leave camp do NOT put your door handle over your door! It is sure sign to tell all you are not in the camper and are gone! 3- once you start using your oven and if it doesn’t heat evenly, buy a pizza stone for the bottom rack to help evenly distribute the heat. Not all people have issues with it heating unevenly, but a lot due As always, stay safe out there…..

We are on our 2nd RV with a 12v fridge. Our ATC had a Norcold 10 CUF and our Airstream has an 8CUF Norcold. Both have been flawlessly and leaps and bounds better than any of our past Absorption refers, needless to say I will never go back to an absorption refer again. The draw back is they can drain batteries if they’re not in good condition. The initial start up and cool down can consume some power but after that it’s pretty minimal. I have 300ah of lithium and 400 watts of solar and generally. I will use 50 amps of power throughout the night, running the fridge, lights, TV’s and the inverter for the dvd player.

Hi. There isn’t an outdoor level attached to the camper? You know a power tongue lift saves a lot from cranking. We never went to hookup sites with water. We just hooked up to the faucet and away we went. Our experience was the pump used a lot of battery juice if used often. Yes, faucets all stay open plus remove faucet tips for the winter. We also put outdoor bulbs near the door to keep bugs away. Nothing beats outside grilling while camping. That door you have to slide over to unhook the screen door? We put a knob on it. Thought I’d share these tips I did. Thanks and take care from Florida where it’s been brutal!
