It's the Department of Transportation, not the Department of Labor who regulates propane tanks. Aside from that he was spot on. If you refill a one pound "disposable" propane bottle you can't legally haul it around on the road.

Awesome video!! Just watched it, and seeing Dexter in the truck enjoying the light show brought memories of a cat-astrophic adventure I had in 2014. I left San Diego in my trusty Corolla, enroute to Virginia City, NV; where my parents lived. Riding shotgun in the carrier was Shadow, an all black cat who I was moving to be with parents, as my work was making me spend way too much time away. Made a stop in Buttonwillow, CA; a busy truck stop town on the I-5, as somebody needed to use a box after @300 miles and 6 hours on the road. Unfortunately, Shadow got spooked and leapt out the door. Mind you,I parked behind a dark building on the edge of town, it’s 9 PM at night, no lights, and I’m looking for a black cat. Trucks are coming and going, it’s noisy, and after 20 minutes, no sign of Shadow. Shaking my head, I looked up at the sky, made a silent plea, and then looked around and said aloud “Shadow, I don’t want to leave you here, but I can’t see you or hear you. If you want to go to a safe and quiet place, make yourself known so I can’t pick up and get back on the road”. 5 minutes later, during a lull in the noise, a plaintive “meow” comes from near the driver front wheel. I pick her up, and decide to just let her have free rein of car. Interestingly, she got used to it quickly. She’d be like Dexter, sitting on my lap looking out the window, or on the dash. Whenever a big rig started to overtake us, she’d run to the back window and start meowing at the truck and follow it thru the car as it passed. Made it to Virginia City safely, and Shadow loved my parents and their house. Took several hours to vacuum up all the cat hair out of that Corolla. Thanks for sharing your adventures. That silicone grease is great. Also Silicone plumbers grease is good. put it on rubber water gaskets and valves and it doesnt wash off with water. Glad you brought that up Hank. You re a good ole guy Hank.

The thing we really enjoy watching is the dialog between you two. You seem more authentic... real... no put-on. We started in Michigan. In Illinois we had to leave because of the big storm last week. We then went to Missouri and after two days the campground let us know they were now expecting 12 inches so we left there. Then we landed in Little Rock and the next storm was going to bring an inch of ice. The campground let us know the shower house was going to freeze so no water. Our motorhome is struggling to stay warm. 59 degrees! We drove as far as Texas in the southeast portion. Pouring rain for 2 days. It’s crazy

We travel full-time in our fifth wheel and during colder months we have two small cube heaters that we put in our cargo hatches (under the kitchen & Bathroom). It works great at saving propane, keeping the trailer warm, and warming the floors which is an added bonus. If you try it make sure the heaters have the safety shutoff feature

One thing you may try in your washer/dryer is to use dryer balls. It will help with the cloth’s wrinkles.

I usually do jeans or things that wrinkle easily in the evening while making dinner or watching tv. Once the unit switches to the dryer, I give it about 10 minutes and then take the clothes out and put them on hangers. I have a shower curtain rod that I hang clothes on. Usually, everything will be dry by morning with no wrinkles.

The tractor supply guy called it the "Dept of Labor" its the DOT dept of Transportation. Also you are never are supposed to open that valve and let liquid come out. The propane cylinder is supposed to have gas at the top for expansion. Liquid has very little expansion. Which means if the pressure inside the cylinder rises just a little, the liquid propane will vent. The liquid expands aprox 270 times to a gas. That is a lot of gas coming out of your cylinder. I love watching you guys, I just want you to be safe. We need you around a long time. ❤❤

Tanks are filled to 80% capacity. Opening the valve lets you know when the liquid hits 80%, the tank is NOT full at that point. The gas at the end was when he was disconnecting the fill hose, there is liquid propane between the tank valve and the hose shut off valve.

They always open the screw and fill till you see it come out of the opening and then shut fill valve off and close screw. That is the correct way..

By opening the screw on the OPD valve you are bypassing it. which means that liquid propane will come out. If the OPD valve is bypassed it no longer is filled to %80, it is filled to %100. Which is unsafe. I just completed a course for filling cylinders in the state of Texas. All filling is supposed to be by weight. I don't mean to be obstinate but safety is always paramount.

I filled tanks for 20 years, That valve is for filling. When liquid starts you turn off the pump, shut the screw, close the hose valve and the tank valve and bleed the LPG between the tank valve and the hose valve. There is a bleeder screw for that as well.

We stayed at the campground and the Harvest host you did! Both were great. We also did not know what time it was! We did Calloway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA. Fantastic show. Plus you can see the gardens and butterfly house with your light show tickets.

Kyle, the battery terminal corrosion comes from the gap between the post and the battery case every once in a while it’s a good idea to disconnect it and clean the inside of the terminal and post also.

Laundry tip: When you wash cycle stops, take your laundry out and shake it out then put it back in to dry. Really helps with getting the wrinkles out

We have a washer-dryer combo and I find that if you pull the clothes out and shake most of the wrinkles out before drying - they turn out with fewer wrinkles, almost eliminates. Use a dryer sheet. Also dry your jeans separately from other items. :) hope that helps! Avoid Laundromats at all cost!

That was cute Dexter on your lap when driving, I would need to close the window for my son's cat. One caution on driving through the semi truck area behind stores, some drivers will sweep the trailer out on the ground and not clean up the nails or screws that came from the pallets. I some times park behind the stores and no one sees you back there but you need to look for nails. I hope you guys are farther south or west now to get out of this cold snap. Stay safe and healthy. We have had single digit high some days, Canada can take the cold back.

Double-check the strainer screens on your faucets, too... they can end up with some debris that will slow your water pressure.

We removed our table in our RV for the same reason you mentioned, it just collected stuff, and replaced with a deck storage container. This gave us a ton of extra storage, and you can put cushions on it to make it look nice.

We are living in our RV for 5 months travelling and wintering in Florida. Your videos have been very helpful. We had trouble with the furnace, sail switch, and just had to change out the water filter due to reduced water flow. Yes, Walmart has become a go to, thinking about downloading the app. One of our biggest challenging is eating healthy, organic, foods. I have a membership at Planet Fitness and am doing a pretty good job getting in there. Lots of challenges but we are up to it. Thank you for your advice and keeping your videos interesting. Great video. guy should make a couple of rice packs, for those cold nights. Get a couple of dishes towels fold them in half sew the two sides put like a pound and half of white rice un cooked in each one then finish sewing them up.then put them in the microwave for one to two minutes to heat them up,then enjoy the warmth of them. Also you take them in the bed with you. Hope you guys like that info. Have fun and stay safe.

Top tip if you're stuck with low park water pressure fill your feesh water tank and turn on your pump, most of the flow will come from the city water supply but the pump will pull just a bit of water from the fresh tank to bring the pressure up. We've done that a few times when pressure was too low to take showers in the rig.

10:32 Hey amigo, you know you could simply switch your valves above your filters like you did to change them. That way you're not using your filters to run water into the crapper. That way you can run water into your bucket from the sink to save the trip, or keep your foot on the pedal of the throne for a minute to fill those crucial gallons. This is the way we do it to avoid the rain and cold weather while emptying tanks.

Call the store prior to arrival. Tell them you’re en’route snd your ETA. They will be better at responding to your propane needs. Time saver too. I just bought new tanks after 12 years. 😊😊

Hi Hanks. Tractor Supply just opened a store up the road from us. They sell propane and have a small RV section too. Dont miss the snow or the cold weather. Dips down in the low 40s at nite. Foggy after it rains. LA in sections looks like a war zone. Fires in different areas. Evacuations. Water in short supply . Fire crews stretched thin and in short supply. Avoid LA if possible till the fires are out.

Laundry, try a little vinegar in the fabric softener holder, it really softens up your clothes, especially towels and jeans. Keep your machine clean as well. If you drain system can take it.
