LIVINGSTON LIVES

Short documentary made to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Livingston town in West Lothian, Scotland.
This town of around 50,000 inhabitants was built from scratch in the 1960s to accommodate the overspill form Edinburgh and Glasgow's over-populated estates.
These are te stories of a variety of people who live in the town today...

To a small person coming out of Glasgow in 1971 we had a house with INSIDE stairs and a back and front garden it was special. Never mind all the wee prats pretending it was tough, at least before 1981 when Knightsbridge was created and everything went to crap

The original housing down in dedrige is falling apart, I'm shocked to see it. Ever since the right to buy people simply ain't maintaining their homes, thinking the council going to repair it. This is happening all over Livingston...

Livi isn't as good as it looked back in the 60s though. Needs some refurbing in some areas. I kinda like old shabby Livingston though, gives it a character with shopping trollies everywhere and a chav under every underpass. Livi lives on 🔥🔥🔥🔥
