I heard the phrase “fantasy self” a while ago and realised I was keeping things (not just clothes) for my fantasy self to spend fantasy days in my fantasy life!!! Once I realised this I was able to declutter more easily. Hope all continues well in your pregnancy. 😘

The diary made me chuckle, bless your little 10 year old heart. We had a buzz lightyear that we locked in the cupboard because he used to just go off randomly and we got so scared of him 🙈🤣

This is bringing back so many memories of nesting when I was pregnant with my first son back in 1977 (I know! Gasp!) I was so driven to get everything ready, to clean things thoroughly, to organize, decorate, and make my home beautiful. One day I caught myself sitting on the floor, going through our board games, and sorting everything out. I knew I had gone too far when I found myself stacking up the Monopoly money and making sure the bills were facing in the same direction! There's such a beautiful energy to nesting, and I can see the glow within you as you prepare your life in this time-honored way as so many women have before you. Enjoy it, yes, even the dust and sneezes, because it will bring you so many wonderful memories in the years to come!

After having 10 children and now expecting another I can promise you that the best thing you can be is a good gate keeper with what comes in and that a baby needs very few things. Same goes with children and adults. I realised that with my husband working outside of the home the buck ultimately stops with me. Keep up the good work.

I’m deep in the midst of my Decluttering journey. I’m definitely more of a hoarder but it’s caused me so much stress for so long and I wish I’d have got rid of more before my son came along. We’ve moved into a house that’s actually a little smaller than the flat with lived in (though it does have more storage space I feel) and we still have stuff everywhere at the moment 🙈🤣 I’m about 3 years in and still blooming going 😩

My husband is such a hoarder, finally I'd had enough of the loft ( man cave) so we had it converted into a bedroom - no more room for his junk. Managed to clear most of it out, sold some items that paid for a lot of the renovation. About once a year we have a cull of each room. 33years together we seem to amass stuff we do not need

I love decluttering videos! Great job on sorting your loft out .. nothing feels better than that “lighter” feeling after a big clean out. 😃 Just wondering, have you considered swapping your bed for one that has storage underneath, whether that be drawers or a big storage cavity? Could be super handy for being able to access stuff easily (obv not talking loft stuff). Thanks for another great video Kay.

I love this. I also have kept a lot of things and shoved them in my 'Monica cupboard' (like from Friends). However, I think that to an extent this can be healthy, wise and sensible. I wasn't in a good/ the right place to be sorting through things and so I let myself have that space to shove things. Then when I was in a good place I was able to efficiently go through it. I have really been noticing a lot recently, how things happen when they are supposed to happen. xx

Well Done!! I would get some clear 'flip top' bins (nice size, not to heavy to lift), for all the different stuff you put in your attic - I think it would make it more organized without different misc. bags/boxes/bins. You can stack those types of bins as well!

Great work today Kay!! Believe me, going through transitions in life like being smaller and larger between weight loss/gain and having kids I have a few wardrobes myself for my sanity but I do go through them periodically as well to make sure they’re only items I love and not items that aren’t my style anymore. With having my children, my minimalism habits have changed but I am still mindful of what comes in and what goes out with regards to toys, kids clothes and items as well. We’re all doing our best and its constantly evolving I’m understanding. I’m excited for you and your new journey coming up with starting your family ❤

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who does this regularly!! My husband and I started our life in a similar small townhouse. I would go through everything once a year or so and clear out. Hi Kaye, very satisfying to have a good loft clear out, l am always having a bit of a clear out, we had our kitchen replaced 18 months ago and I had a good sort out, sent six big bags to the charity, we live in a two bed house and when our boys were young had our loft boarded out for all our storage, best thing we ever did, had a lot more space for all our stuff, looking well take care xx

I don’t store anything in my loft anymore and I feel really good about that. Two reasons. Firstly I rent and I had to move lots of times and it was a hassle to move the stuff with me, I hate heights and cannot get in the loft so needed help to get boxes down etc it was a hassle! Second reason was I ruined lots of items due to damp and extremes in temperatures so when I last moved I made a conscious decision to not store anything in the loft! You did a great job! Well done x

Thanks for sharing this video. Great start to my Sunday 😊. I mean this in the nicest way possible but seeing your loft at the start of the video makes me feel better about the state of my loft 😂. Ours is just full of furniture and gardening/small holding things which don’t fit our life right now. We moved from the country to the city to be nearer hospitals during a time of illness but we are putting that behind us and hoping to move back to the country soon and be able to unpack our chicken coop 🐓

Loved this decluttering video Kay. I'm a lot older than you and still have items from school. Why?!! It's funny though because only last year my friend and I were talking about our years of adventures in the Alps when we were in our twenties (a long time ago lol) and I said I wish I still had my diaries to give us a laugh. Unfortunately they were disposed of . I always try to be ruthless and then wish I hadn't lol.I love the fact that you had Dominic as one of your names. It was meant to be! You look so well and happy xx

Congrats on the job well done - especially the clothes, why can those be so hard? I’m your age and recently took a hard look at my clothing and came to terms with my body has matured more these last few years and some clothes I’ll just never fit in again. And that’s ok. Had a very ruthless declutter and then was able to fill in some gaps with a few thrift store trips and I’m much more happy and comfortable in my clothing now.

Oooo that was a job ! I hate to Declutter - it seems to take forever, and so guilty of picking up little things like your diaries, photos, jotters, pieces of paper, old cards etc, and re reading them. So takes forever. Due to Declutter soon 😫 but will be in a better mindset now I’ve watched your own vlog. Definitely before Xmas. Said I was going minimalist Xmas decor last year but saw those little cute wooden houses and just added to the previous years stuff - but definitely going more minimalist this year.
