Just so satisfying to see a build that's done right, no corners cut, all legit.

I remember installing an aftermarket sunroof on my 1979 Chevette! I bought this unit at Sears and it was a manual pop up glass sunroof panel. Once you decide, there's no going back! That thing NEVER leaked a bit!!! Loved that pos car!!!
@aserta3 жыл бұрын
6:05 that one might fail. I dunno where you got that cowling, but it's supposed to come with two 90 degrees hard rubber grommets that by design, can't be installed from the inside of the vehicle. Those 90 degree grommets, you're supposed to install with the wires, then glue the cowling on top, which is just a secondary protection. Our Transit vans, eight in number, came from the reffiter's place without those grommets installed (in our case, the reffiter didn't install them) and the cowling failed after two years, because of the hot cold cycle. Just my 2 cents. If you google (images) "90 degrees grommet" it's very similar the gray one.

Nice thought on the aluminum strips. Wish I had done that. The butel tape and lap sealant should hold. Used under side reinforcement and trim rings from same supplier. Excellent product. No oil canning down highway. Looking for less buffeting and branch protection once a roof rack and solar are up there. Assuming you touched up paint on edges of holes like you did for flares? Like the holes in corners. Leaving corners round protects against stress tearing of sheet metal.
