Thanks for refreshing so many memories I have of vacations to York pre-pandemic. A lovely meal at Loch Fyne, enjoying the streets with no cars and of course the beautiful Minster. I love your videos since they have natural street sounds, not music over them. I really appreciate you! Writing from the middle of the US.

What a lovely walk throughout and beautifully paced. I love the area Fossgate that you end on, it has to be one of my favourite streets anywhere in Britain.

I rather agree with you RBS, the fact that it’s full of good coffee shops is a real bonus too. All the best to you.

Nice video, M y wife and I visit York regularly , we live in Manchester so it’s just over an hour away, we always discover something new and interesting, the layers of history are amazing, the walls are mostly intact so you can get a perspective of the city if you walk round them, the university grounds I could go on and on , lovely city

Hi again Mike 👋 !! Thanks for this, I wondered when York was going to make its appearance ⛪️ 🏰 ⛅️ 👍. As you may remember - this is a favourite location of ours for great short holidays 👫 (and picking up a dose of COVID 😵💫). Always such a lively City 🏴💕. Greetings from Scotland 🏴, cheers, Don 🙋♂️

Hello there Don, always a pleasure to hear from you. Yes indeed I do remember you getting a dose of the ol covids in York, not quite the souvenir you might have hoped for. I’ll be popping by to your channel when we get back from Madeira to see what’s new, hope you’re having a good autumn?

You could spend a week in York and not see it all. Many fine shops and the magnificent Cathedral A fine town, like many others in England. Not for nothing is a cCounty named after it trust the video was not made before Covid in 2020

Yes, it's a fine city - one of our favourites. And yes, it was only filmed about a year ago, so after Covid!

Hello friends - another visit to York !!!!! Very busy indeed. I always found burgeoning tourist numbers quite stressful ( especially in my Oxford ) but you navigate your way through quite successfully I see :) So much history, but I will control myself this time, rather than become vexatious and possibly tedious but Clifford`s Tower is worth a visit, site of much brutality over the centuries, but it does present a fine example of a Mott and Bailey castle construction - and, as with the Normans, only a short distance from the cathedral. May I ask, and it is only an observation, but this 4k that you indicate - is this using a cell phone ? I find that the screen resolution is less precise than when using a dedicated camera, so there is a loss of clarity at times - not being a cell phone user, I have no certainty about this - sorry !!! No matter, as always, well done and thank you :)
@LivingWalks2 жыл бұрын
We’ll hello again Mr T, yes those crowds in York can be a little stressful in parts. Perhaps all the better to walk virtually?Interesting to hear your feedback re the 4K, we do very much notice the difference between the footage on bright sunny days when it’s pin sharp and cloudy days such as this one in York where it’s less so. In general we’re happy with the Dji pocket 2, and it’s a powerful little thing! Bring on those sunny days! Always a pleasure to hear from you.

York has nil connections with Harry Potter, the Diagon Alley/Shambles connection is a myth perpetuated by Chinese tourists that took off. Brings more tourism money in though and as a York resident I cant complain.
