Hi Adam. I really must congratulate you on your beautiful Rover P6 V8, you must be so proud of it. It reminds me of when I purchased my two year old Rover 2000 P6 in 1968 which had been chauffeur driven for two years and belonged to The Minister of Transport in UK. I paid £750.00 for it and drove it proudly for three years then had to sell it as I was given a company car. During that time nothing ever went wrong with my P6 other than a broken exhaust muffle which got caught up on a rock on a camping site in Spain with my wife and three young boys. The 1500 miles drive back home to UK was a bit noisy but we made it OK. I actually sold it to an RAF Squadron Leader who bought it at first glance and happily paid me the sum of £750.00 the same as I had paid for it three years previously. I am 84 years old now and love watching your You Tube videos especially the Jaguar XJ-S versions as I recently bought a lovely Signal Red 1990 V12 XJ-S Convertable at auction as a work in progress car and love undertaking it's restoration. Keep on making your videos as I really enjoy them. Kind Regards. John from Cambridge . England.

Hi Adam, if possible it would be nice to see the detailer's XJ6 and what you did with it. Thanks for the vids !

She's got to be one of the best original examples out there, anywhere. I'd love to see you restore the chrome wheel trims polish and paint.

Beautiful Rover Adam. That V8 is a lovely motor but you MUST NOT miss or extend oil changes otherwise they can eat their camshaft pretty quickly. They’re bulletproof when properly cared for.
@LivingWithAClassic7 ай бұрын
I'm very particular about my oil change intervals on all my cars. This engine luckily seems to have been well taken care of before my ownership also.

The build was a copy of the Citroen DS all the body panels attached to a skeletal frame . Fabulous car .

You’ll have to keep it in the garage gallery now. She’s halfway to a high maintenance garage queen with this polish now 😅

wow, what a transformation cant't get that wet now, lol. Great barter system you both had going, I tend to do the same with the professionals I know despite me being a keen amateur as it were. Nice to see the car looking like that Adam, you were very very lucky at finding that one.

Looking great. To think this was supposed to be trading up and moving on. I bet you put value on it. Also it would be great for us DIYers to see what the detailers did to make it look so great. Also how will you keep it that way???
@LivingWithAClassic7 ай бұрын
If I were to sell it I would most likely make a nice profit however I'm not sure I'll ever find such a nice one again. She will be covered when inside my car barn and only come out when the weather is nice. I plan to continue to wax it once or twice a year.

I remember as a kid the UK traffic cops had these V8 Rovers. Had a chrome TC badge on them if I recall correctly. Was the TC for Traffic Cops?😂
@philiptidmarsh7 ай бұрын
That would be the smaller 4 cylinder 2000 or 2200 with the TC being for twin carbs but like your thinking !
@LivingWithAClassic7 ай бұрын
Yes TC stands for twin carb on the 4 cylinder versions of this car.

I have an older one 1969. Full rebuild has cost me about $36,000
@johnmoruzzi72367 ай бұрын
Run the tyres a bit softer to help them circularise a bit ? There should be no real problem with the age otherwise although wet grip will reduce with aged rubber compounds…. the car was stored out of the sun and UV….
