@@BoatZone $3500 a day is a million a year. If you ran some of these boats every day, that's close to the fuel cost. The guys that buy these boats, they just take the fuel cost and put it in "the budget". It's just part of the day. The credit card given to me for my job, when I "on it" full time is easily $10,000 a month and sometimes it's $30,000 a month. I don't even call those expenses in. As a heads-up I mean. I've bought lunch before at $5,500. Yea it's insane money. But for some people, it is literally just what Thursday lunch cost. "Some people" means just that, not saying I'm 'some people'. I know a guy that has private jet and private island kinda money. His house in my hometown, he has 10 guys working in his yard every day. Every day. He has 3 acres of shop under AC with classic cars. I've seen the insurence list. $15,000,000. He has 3 guys in there full time. I know another guy that 10 years ago was watching Barrett Jackson on tv, he told his wife that a car collection "could be fun". They had a 60 Vette already. He went to a few auctions, had 75 cars within 45 days. If a guy wants to spend $5,000 a day ON the days he drives the boat. More powr to him. It's cheaer than a cocaine habit.

A friend from high school graduated college, and eventually took over a lucrative family business. He had a small party aboard a small yacht. I found out the party was because he was selling the yacht and was spending the weekend on it to supervise the clean up and take his stuff out because he was selling it. I asked him why, if him and his dad had this boat for so long why he was selling it and his answer was that its the second biggest money waster next to owning a jet lol. It was beautiful, but the cash involved in just kepping it docked is insane.

I think I'd still take a Bering 80 over most of those yachts. You can go anywhere you want, fit just about anywhere you want, go as far as you want, and stay out for as long as you want. You only burn about 10 gph and have a range of 5-6k miles.
