The overwhelming majority of the American people don’t understand the fundamentals of their own government or the foundational ideas behind our constitutional form of government. They vote simply on the basis of their emotions. Unfortunately within that group a significant portion are governed by emotions of anger, hate, dogma, and xenophobia. This state of the electorate has been growing for many decades and fixing it in time to preserve our country’s traditions and way of life may not be possible. My fear is that if this election goes the way of 2016 we are finished as a democratic constitutional republic. There will be no way back.

If we put in higher tax rates on wealthy like we did under President Bill Clinton, where the budget deficit went down, and the trade deficit went down. Then more jobs were created in manufacturing because the dollar was lower. With the 3 Republican Presidents, George H. W, Bush, George W. Bush and trump, there were a net gain of 1 million jobs created in the US economy. With the 3 Democrat Presidents, Bill Clinton, Barrack Obama and Joe Biden, there has been a total net gain of 50 million jobs created in the US economy. While it might be argued that there was a lucky for Democrat Presidents and unlucky alignment or recession while Republicans were Presidents, we might just conclude that the Democrats know something.
