Hi Liza, I'm so happy to see your lovely cats again. I watched your other videos on them, and love seeing them all big now. I met a neighbour's cat recently outside my door, and it just happened to be a Gray British shorthair. It had the most beautiful personality, it won me over and I started researching the breed. I'm thinking of maybe getting one 😊

Lovely video. I have a white blue eyed rag doll (Willow) & a torti half rag doll (Luna). They are girls & gorgeous. They love to aggravate my year old cocker spaniel 😂. I do have an issue with Willow peeing on any hard floor around the house. I’ve tried every litter on the market I’m sure & have numerous litter trays but she still does it 🤔. Vet says no health issues so probably behavioural. The kids do say her eyes go in opposite directions & I only ever manage to pick the broken ones 🤣. Enjoy your the rest of your Sunday xx

Could try feliway plug ins or keep dog in separate area, eg dog not allowed upstairs so cat can be upstairs alone can reduce stress levels.

Watching from Australia, with my British shorthair Kiki British Longhair George, and my inherited Moggie Bella (she's my grand cat). Kiki is always beating up or hissing at Poor George . I think Kiki and Gigi are similar in temperament. Gotta love them!

Gigi is absolutely stunning - she has perfect type for a British. I use the Catit lavender litter and concur it is the best litter - no odour, minimal tracking, clumping, and flushable. I go through 1 box every 4 weeks with 2 cats and get mine from Amazon too.

Loved the video. Quite unusual for a BSH to like to be cuddled like that. One of the things some breeders don't tell potential buyers is about the independent nature of the breed. If you want a complete cuddle monster who sits on your lap all day and follows you around like a dog they are not the breed for you. I've always found them to like affection on their terms i.e. when and where they want it. They can be playful but compared to many other breeds they do like the quiet life and you should always keep an eye on their weight. They do make a great indoor only cat with a sweet and undemanding nature. I had a blue boy for 18 years, a black silver tabby boy who we sadly lost last year at only 10 (cancer) and we now just have our 10 year old female blue spotted tortie.

13:46 I still remember in one of your videos about Gigi a while ago (when she was like 6 months old), you said that "she doesn't shed much" and i was like "well we'll see *smirking*" (i'm a British shorthair mom too) hahahaha and now you can feel that. According to what I heard, British shorthair is one of the most shedding cat breeds ever

We have two ragdolls and the only issue we've had with accidents is when louis' fur is to long it follows him outside the loo but a quick bum trim with some scissors and back to normal:)

I own a British shorthair male, he’s now a year old and I’ve had him since he was 9 weeks old. He used to LOVE to sleep behind my back or in my armpit. He used to love sitting on my lap, but unfortunately he don’t do any of these anymore… he’ll come sit near me but ofcourse with a distance. And nowadays he loves to sleep at the end of my bed. He’s a bit smaller than most British shorthairs, and not as chonky 😅mine sure does love being held, but the minute you decide to sit while holding him, he decides to jump out your arms 😂

I also heard about the mess that rag dolls could get into when using the bathroom and that put me off a bit…when you did the clippers on your boy at the start did you find it easy? Lovely video Liza with your fur babies do you weigh thier food and what weight of grams do you give them my fur baby will only eat dry food . If it helps anyone we built a Catio on our patio so we leave the door open and he has access to the fresh air and all weather's so he can come and go and when the weather is nice I sit outside with him Thank you Liza 🌹🐈Xxxx

Were your British shorthairs cuddly from the start? I have a 14 week old BSH and I got him 2 weeks ago. He is like a little shadow that follows you everywhere but he hates being petted, picked up or touched in any form. He likes to sleep close to me while avoiding any touch.

I put small cardboard scratchers next to where they like to scratch so they scratch that instead. But getting wooden floors instead of carpet has helped the most!

Hi Liza, I enjoy your post about kitties. I actually have a male British Short Hair since he was three months old and now he’s gonna have his first birthday next month. I and my wife think about another female British Short Hair after our boy’s castration. As you know our boy is too unactive and always sleeping.
