I'd love to make this in future but jist seeing the way you layer the fabric and stitch the seams so caught inside is incredible! I'll def remember for my current practice!

First of all, your nail color matches beautifully with the bra color. Very slick with the removal of the straight pins while sewing!! Looks like it could be very tricky sewing the cup to the bridge piece, but you make it look easy. You are a wonderful teacher! :)

I’ve spent about a half kazillion (roughly, of course) getting ready to sew some bras. I’m halfway into my first attempt with a pin up girl pattern and it’s coming along. Watching your tutorials are verrrrrryyyyy sooooothing as I’m too tired to sew and too contrary to sleep for my 5th night shift tonight. So pretty!

Your teaching is wonderful. And your techniques are so good. Burrito... And that is the loudest bernina I've ever heard.

I don’t have this pattern yet, but now that you’ve done a tutorial, I’m sure I’ll be purchasing it! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and I love the fabric and color of your new bra!!

Leaving the upper cup lining top edge loose seemed "unfinished", so I zigzagged a stabilizer along the edge, but I didn't really like the way it messed with the view of the lace design, so I took it back out and left it raw as you did. That looks much nicer to me.

Your tutorials are beautifully video-taped. Maybe sometime you could show us what camera set-up you use.... I've started working on making a bra using a lot of your tips - just a matter of getting the fit right!

Haha! Sure I can show my camera setup... It never occurred to me that people would care!

In part one of this tutorial you mentioned cutting the upper cup on a fold when making a shear bra, and i wonder what you do with the seam allowances when doing that?
@LizSews5 жыл бұрын
in that case I would remove the SA completely and place the fold along the "sew" line
@withSabina5 жыл бұрын
I mean the S A facing the cup, not the upper edge, since you can’t make it hidden ☺️

🤦♀️ so when I do a sheer bra I tend to leave it in a single layer (unlined) to maintain its sheer-nees, my chest is fairly self supporting so it's fine but I know some with larger cups prefer 2 layers of the tricot in opposing directions for more support. In any case all the SA are left exposed in my sheer bras so I try to be super accurate when cutting and sewing since you can see everything. I still topstich the seam down like I would in a lined bra but the edges just aren't encased. I wash them once a week and have never had any issues

Liz, you are passing on you bra passion so well through your channel! And I am highly considering to buy this pattern! I bought the Marlborough after watching you make great versions. What is the big difference between both patterns?
@LizSews5 жыл бұрын
Not a huge difference just slightly different style lines.

I love your sewalongs. Have you thought about designing your own bra to sell? I think youd be very successful at it. I'm a 46D, would it be as simpleas extending the back piece to make it fit?
@LizSews5 жыл бұрын
42e would be the sister cup to a 46d then add the extra 4" to the back band. If those cups are too big then try 40e + 6" to the back... If42e is too small in the cups then try 42f

@@LizSews Thank you! This stuff is a mindfield, I really dont understand it!!
@pinsandneedlesx88255 жыл бұрын
Is that mesh with lining?
@LizSews5 жыл бұрын
The lining is a 15 denier stabilized tricot and the outer is stretch lace. For the back band I always use power net.
