Die gute Qualität liegt nicht an Rundfunkgebühren sondern daran, dass die amerikanischen jeden Abend live senden. Wir hingegen haben, wenn überhaupt, mal eine Sendung pro Wochen. Sprich 7 Tage mehr Zeit zum vorbereiten und das Budget kann an einem Abend ausgegeben werden wohingegen die Amis die Budgets auf 5 bis 7 Tage die Woche aufteilen müssen. Die amerikanischen Sender haben deutlich mehr Geld als unser öffentlich rechtlichen.

I actually don't know, but whenever German TV shows some clips from US shows, they always look washed out compared to our video quality. For TV series, though, it's a completely different game. While US productions always have a cinematic color grading, German series tend to be more on the natural/realistic side.

They use a lot of different cameras in movie quality, every german pays 17,50 euros a month for this (it's compulsory)

I think the most simple and straightforward answer would be that US late night shows are on almost every day of the week, whereas this one only airs once a week, which buys them a lot more time to shot and edit the footage.
