Thank you for this to learn by. When I get in from detecting, like today, and the tones are still fresh in my mind, I watch this and connect the tones with the finds I had today. I am learning my Excalibur II, and each trip gets more deliberate. Smiling, George. video #51

Been watching your videos for a long time Michael and appreciate you showing your set up. Am thinking of getting the Excal myself and setting her up like yours. You have tried and proved it works so that is good enough for me. Mike in stormy Florida. (I even have a pair of crutches like you show and will use one as well)

Michael , I forgot to mention . I was down at the lake yesterday. I was just detecting the banks of the lake. It was so clean . There were no cans, tabs no trash. The water was clear and beautiful . But what I wanted to tell you, is that My Moms neighbor came out and we were talking about metal detecting and such. But he said his wife lost her wedding rings, not to far from their dock . The lake bed drops down to 20 to 30 feet, at about 30 feet from their dock. It's been 20 years and the ring is still down there. I would love to try to recover it. I'm not confident enough in my swimming skills to attempt to go down that far. Plus all I have is a 25 year old Whites metal detector . It does not go under water . That is why I detect the lake shores . I can put it under the water at about 3 ft max. The controls are at the top and are not waterproof . I thought I would share that with you and the rest of your subscribers . Wendy

Yep the bubble can be loud. I may try cutting holes in a dive hood for my ear holes and possibly remove the limiting resistor inside the Excalibar II headphones for louder audio.

Are you still using the exact same set up as you show here? Anything new that you have changed? (Got me that excal 2, I mentioned the other day!!). Now to set er up and get out there and find some lost rings to return! Keep up the great work Michael. Mike Mc

Great videos Michael,I have finished making the green plastic shovel and bought a two piece carbon shaft from the U.S and now finally going to use it all for the first time next weekend. Just wondering I heard it mentioned somewhere some people use some sort of water repelling substance around the thread of the battery lid to help seal it,just wondering what that might be and where to buy it. Thanks

How do I get the guard that protects the tuning dials, are they made in Australia? or do I have to import it from overseas?
@stephenredfern3 жыл бұрын
The guard to protect the dials is called 'Anderson Knob Guard for Minelab Excalibur Series Metal Detector', seems like amazon and eBay AU has some in stock.

How do you mount it to your back? Do you just loop it over. I really like your set up. I'd love to see you use it. Even if it's just on a beach hunt. Keep up the great work.

Just need to ask this but when you hold your breath when diving isn’t this dangerous ?
@johnross13955 жыл бұрын
The knobs on the excal 2 are from minelab... they are. cheap, they break just looking at them. I replaced all my mineladb knobs with Anderson knobs. They are rock solid bullet proof and ten feet tall. Maybe cost me 20 bucks to replace all knobs

Great tips. I've detected gold nuggets with a GP3000 since 2003 and an SD2200 before that. I live in Oceanside, Ca and thought it's time to do some beach and water hunting. I was thinking about the Excalibur and found your video had some great tips. Thanks

Hey Michael, my buddy and I are both divers and we try to dive every weekend. We both use the Excalibur2 and I get aggravated cause we can’t be within 30ft of each other without interference. Is there any setting that can eliminate this?
@johnross13956 жыл бұрын
Nothing can change the interference between machines. Be thankful they are not pulse machines as they wipe out anything within 50 feet. When my buddy and I dive, one detects the other digs. then we switch.
