Resin rot refers to the bezel and strap deteriorating, not to the actual hard resin case. The resin cases are not as delicate as you make them out to be, although you are right about having to be careful about the lugs when messing with the spring bars. I have a 5000u, and it's a great watch, but so is the 5610.

I agree that the resin watch case is quite durable, but not the lugs. There's a risk that they may brake and crack. Especially the Rangeman has a history of weak lugs. A watch case is quite worthless if the lugs or lugholes are damaged. The lugs on a steel case will never brake though.

I have had the Rangrman GW-9400-1 for 5 years with no issue with the lugs. Maybe it was a batch problem. I got another Rangrman had it for 2 years and no issues and I use it for everything. Maybe the lug issue is blown up a bit.

My GW-M5610 1ER has exactly the same features (two dashes in the alarm mode, it shows the current time in the stopwatch and timer modes , the month-day order is interchangeable, multilingual, it shows complete letters in the city code and light 1 or 3 seconds)

Good choice. The GW 5000 will last for a very long time as it has a steel case. Resin is not the same.

You are comparing the old module to the new U-module. Both watches are available with either module.

Thanks for this excellent comparison. I have the 5610U-1ER, it has the same module as the 5000. However, I believe that the 5000 is longer lasting because of the steel body. If I had known earlier, I would have paid the difference of 120 euros. But so far I'm happy with my 5610. Prices by the german Amazon in March 24: 5610U = 105 Euro 5000 = 242 Euro Greetings from Frankfurt/Germany

5610 is the OG and the best. The premium 5000 is 30% heavier and 0.5mm thinker making it less comfortable. Buttons are harder to press. And for me the red circle in the dial makes the 5610 more aesthetic. X2,5 the price… no thank you

The buttons are the same size and they are just as easy to push, but the buttons on the pre 2021 model of the GW5000 were harder to push.

Interesting that you show the universal YY : MM : DD format for the date on your video. 00:15 That's the format I prefer for my computers, phone and watch. It also makes the 3495 update unnecessary. I may take out the 3495 module in my GW-5000 and replace it with a 3159, so I can have the Bluetooth function. I have a 5600 with solar, it's OK. EDIT - typo corrections

With the 5610u or 5000u updated module you can select Euro or US time format, so no need to swap the module.

@@adsagp I found out there are very few modules that can be used as "drop-in" replacements. There are subtle differences that makes it impossible.

@@adsagp Not just size. Contact position differences, functionality differences may cause different artwork on the lens, so it doesn't line up with the display. The forums are the best places to find that out. Nothing ... is ever as simple as it looks.

hello! why do compare the moduls? The 5610 is an old version.That is not to fair.The current version of the 5610 is technicly indentical with the 5000 U. You could have shown all the funktions of the 5000 U,and declare that the 5610 in the current version is the same.that would be fair.The price of the newer 5610 is the same that it was for the older modell.
