Excellent video! Thanks so much for the complete and detailed disassembly & assembly of your Salt S2. Salt Supply should post your video on their site. I got my S2 a few days ago. Immediately I had several common questions about it that their web site, chat, nor owners manual answered. Your video answered them all plus more! You've won yourself a new subscriber here. THE CO2 INSERT END look like has a screw driver mark on the brass end when you look inside looks like you can use a small flat head screw driver and when you unscrew the back end theres no more air restrictor like the one in hdx 68 black plastic

Not a screwdriver mark. The restrictor is pressed in.

man i really enjoyed this informative video , seems to me much easier for someone out there just beginning could be slightly less intimidating to do maintenance or maybe some modding compared to totally taken apart a umarex hdp.50 or worst the infamous HDR's ? lmao lol !!! before polishing , i like to randomly score some tiny microscopic lines in all directions with a blade , sorta like makeshift cross-hatching , then polish to a beautiful luster . you have said also long long ago , the lines help hold the lubricant onto the valve shaft , in the industry we refer to this as scarring or "roughing up the surface " !!! it takes me 1 to 2 weeks to totally redo internals on the hdp's and hdr's , file , fir , sand , polish etc. all internals to make sure they all perform their intended functions to their maximum capabilities, this thing looks to be a breeze compared to them umarexes !!! i have some ideas on making better bolts , i wish i had a lathe , i am so tired of using vices and drills etc. lol ! i am waiting to see someone hook in the back of the valve with a part that allows to hook a tank too , I AM surprised jeff didnt build a super carbine yet lol , for now , get out your fitting from home defence -24 that lets you hook up your HPA tank to the bottom of the pistol , this will be another great idea for a upcoming video !!! imagine pushing this thing to 40 plus joules just for fun , possibly 50 !!! WOW !!!LOL

The color and sound of that bolt make it seem like a low grade stainless steel rather than aluminum, is that true? If so, wouldn't this launcher benefit from a lighter bolt? It's not under a ton of force or pressure in any direction. I wonder if there are any commercial aluminum or Delrin bolts for a TiPX or FSC or something that might fit and let the pressure release faster. Also, it really looks like that cartridge tube is threaded onto the casting and could be unthreaded with some persuasion and gentle heating to facilitate modification of the restrictor more easily. Did Salt tell you it's pressed rather than threaded?
@lesslethalfordummies8 ай бұрын
Very observant fellow. The bolt is stainless and probably not of the highest quality but it does well. My experience testing lightened bolts in blow forward markers says no. Heavier is better because that inertia smacking the heavy balls we shoot, kickstarts the forward momentum. The firing pin in the Salt is skinny minny and Tipx or Fs bolt do not interchange. The air valve oring is also smaller diameter….i tried a Valken/FS/Umarex oring. They dont work. I assume the tube is threaded and is advertised to withstand a 24hr puncture. Removal may require some strong heat. Not sure whats under there so that may damage some form of seal.

Loved your anti-rattle fix. You said you took an o-ring from your kit. Maybe you can help point me in the right direction. A while back, I replaced an o-ring on an air rifle, but it didn't last. Then I was told I need to use a 90 durometer o-ring. That's when I realized I screwed up by buying my kit from Ali. Where do you buy your o-ring kits? Can you recommend a good one? Thanks.
@lesslethalfordummies8 ай бұрын
It was just a generic oring kit from Amazon for like $15. I cant remember the size. Anything could work…..a small elastic from teeth braces or even a wrap or two of electrical tape. It needs very little to stop the rattle. Check your junk drawer. 🙂
@AustinTaylor-b1o7 ай бұрын
@@lesslethalfordummies Thanks. I get it for that application. I was just hoping to find a quality kit for real pressure o-ring applications. Like I mentioned above, last time my mistake was not using a 90 durometer. I didn't even know what that was at the time. I guess I need to find a good source. Some of my air rifles are 4400 psi. lol

Can we compere the two internals as to why the mag releases on a loaded S2 but does not on the Hwasan F7? Maybe the breach requires filing wider?
