There are top streamers who still say things like "half my deck is removal and it's still not enough" and this is a prime example of how value will almost always outvalue removal strategies, with the pleasant side effect of being a lot more fun to play. Funny seeing FOTM domain overlords roping to a wholesome mono green deck. I’m bummed there were no aggro opponents, as that seems like the main challenge for this list.

With new combat rule, let's say you have a 6/6 trample. They block with a 5/5, can you choose to only deal 1 damage to it and 5 to them?

No - you still have to assign lethal damage to all blockers before any Trample damage can be assigned. New rule only comes into play in combat with multiple blockers on a single attacker
