I own Vivo x90 pro plus, and totally happy with it’s camera, even after Pixel 6 pro. However, I admit that ultrawide sensor on Vivo is pretty crap. Have to use Gcam for good ultrawide shots. Also, when I want natural colors - I make 2 shots: one in common mode and one in Zeiss natural mode. One of this modes in most cases gives very accurate colors. But you never know which one will work in this particular case until you make a shot :)

I'm waiting for for x90 pro plus to ship to me. Had a hard time to decide which to take, but newer ltpo screen , better thermal management, ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and zeiss coating tipped the balance towards vivo. I watched all available camera comparisons and honestly, unless you heavily pixel peep, differences between the two are mostly preferential. On paper, oppo's camera seems to be much more capable, but vivo's v2 ISP does the job well with available hardware.

The main sensor is similar, but the oppo gives more natural colors. Ultra wide, the oppo is again clearly better. Up to 5x zoom the oppo is much better, especially at night, above that the vivo is a little better. the oppo was better even in low light, but the vivo only in very dark conditions. The ultra-wide and zoom units are also much better at night because of the larger sensors. Thanks for the test, I just sold my ultra 13 to choose between these, but this is clear.

FindX6pro is great for those 1/1.56" Uw an Tele, while mi13ultra has shortened their uw and tele from 1/2.0 to 1/2.5. But i love the Double Aperture from mi13u. In the end i will stay until next year with my mi11u 👍. Every Phone at the moment has some serious disadvantages for their Price. If i had to i would take mi13u or p60 pro.

A very nice review from an honest, trustworthy reviewer. I would go after Oppo Find X6 Pro if it was available globally. I read a lot of negative feedbacks regarding Chinese ROM (notifications issue, not working Android Auto and several other things). So since I need not only an awesome mobile camera but also a great smartphone, I will wait for global release. Cheers

@@mattk5020 Probably not. I don't want to blind myself with the flash. I tried it once on another test and its painful and took hours for my eyes to recover. At least when it comes to selfie vlogging mode. The rest we will see. Not keen to making a full big video out of it. Maybe a KZbin Shorts.

I thought the Vivo X90 Pro and Oppo Find X6 Pro smartphones didn't have stabilization on the front camera. I watched other reviewers' video footage of their selfies shaking a lot, that means they weren't looking for the stabilization feature, right?

Exactly. By default it is turned off as it crips in a bit and for some reason it defaults to turning off so you need to enable it everytime.

I have the Mate 50 Pro vs Magic 5 Pro and Oppo Find X6 Pro vs Xiaomi 13 Pro in the pipeline still. Honor vs Vivo will come also at one point maybe but its currently not on the Todo. I will put it there. But some others have priority right now. Some IEM reviews are also in the pipeline

in fact there is no need for a special Boket mode when shooting with a smartphone today. because when I see your video and when you film with the selfie camera well it already makes a natural bouquet and I prefer that to an artificially added boket

Bigger sensor = better natural bokeh The front selfie camera sensors in smartphones are very tiny ie not able to produce bokeh. Hence why they rely on software to produce a artificial bokeh. Only the 1 inch sensor in the main camera of Xiaomi 13, Oppo Find X6 Pro, Vivo X90 Pro+ (also Honor Magic5 Pro with a almost 1 inch sensor) can produce a natural bokeh. But artificial bokeh if done right can still look good, sometimes even very good.

Moi Moi aus Stuttgart. Interessant wäre es zu sehen wie sich das Vivo x90 pro+ gegenüber den neuen Sony Xperia 1 V im cinematic Modus schlägt. Beide Geräte legen einen großen Fokus auf Filter und cineastische Effekte und 21:9 Format. Ich glaube das Xperia 1 V nimmt in Cinema Pro 1080p u 4k in 24 und 120fps mit echten bokeh-effekt auf. Und das Vivo x90 pro+ in 1080p 24fps und fake bokeh. Sieht aber richtig gut aus. Aber Venice und S-cinetone sind auch echt nice von Sony. Ich bin hin und hergerissen für welches Gerät ich mich entscheiden soll. Ich freu mich schon auf deine Videos. 😉😅

As far as I know, Huawei P or Mate series is the most expensive Chinese smartphone and the price is still below Samsung and Apple....the front camera also supports 4K60fps recording

Because the front camera of the Vivo V27 series already supports 4K60fps recording (fyi, the front camera of the Vivo V series has supported 4K recording since the V20 series) and the front camera of the Xiaomi Civi 3 will also support 4K recording (maybe limited to 30fps). It is possible that the Oppo Reno 10 series front camera also supports 4K recording So, the front camera of the Vivo X100 series and Xiaomi 14 series which will be released at the end of this year will most likely support 4K60fps recording
