I was at the Butchers Hook and Cleaver Pub by Smithfield’s market at 7:45pm on a random Thursday in 2006? My friend excitedly told me he just got two free tickets to Lloyd Cole and the Commotions at Hammersmith Apollo starting at 8pm, should we go? We immediately jumped in a cab. We told the cab driver what was up, he was of an age that he understood and we got there before the first note. Best concert ever.

I recently moved, and got my vinyl collection out of the hole in my old house and set up a nice spot for my turntable at the new place; I'd been going through record by record, remembering all these artists I hadn't listened to in over 20 years. I got out Rattlesnakes and Easy Pieces, and have just been listening to them constantly for the last 4 days, unable to move on to the next artist. Unbelievable what amazing lyrics they had - some brilliant one liners that most artists can't even come close to.
