I kinda miss how in these older videos Llyod was in a dressing gown in a messy room madly rambling about inane stuff. All that's changed is he doesn't wear a gown and his room is a bit more tidy but i feel the channel loses that "Watching a psychopaths home videos before the killings start" quality it had before.

i like to think its all just a cearfully crafted ruse. loyd keeps the camera on the same wall for most videos, hence, he can keep the rest of the room very messy. Also, he likely dosn't wear pants, becuse the camera only films from the waist up. Hes still just as disheveled underneith it all :>

Your point about using your best cutlery quite possibly just changed my daily habits for life. I always carry a knife on me. It is a very useful tool, and I pity the folks that look on me in fear every time I pull out my knife to cut something. Its a freaking TOOL! The point I am trying to get to is, I always carried my cheapest knifes on me, and left my nice knives at home. I had convinced myself that, if I damage or break my $5 knife, no big deal, I'll just buy another $5 knife... But wait a minute. I have a few really good knives at home I could carry. All of which I received second hand, and had seen much use prior to my acquiring them. So if they were good enough for the daily tasks of someone else before me, and stood up to the test of time with them, why shouldn't I use them daily as well! Thanks to your bit of insight, I will now carry my favorite good knife on me, and use it daily. At least if I do damage it beyond repair, the knife finally lived up to its purpose as best as it could.

Best thing you can do in your life, standardize your socks. Ain't go no time for sorting out different shapes and crap. And really as a guy, what do you need. You need some basic socks, and then a couple pairs of dress ones for the occasions you need them. Go visit my sister's house for whatever reason, and she'll be doing laundry or something. Woman got 36 pair of socks and no 2 pairs match. Uugh. She spends like 15 minutes folding those up and sorting and I'm just over here like "HA, I don't even fold mine into pairs, I just throw them all into the drawer.

I came to the same philosophy. Once upon a time I was after a pair of boots. Times were hard and I didn't want to spend much so I found some in a store I hadn't used previously that I figured would do the job. They were just under £15 and I figured they'd see me through the next 6 months or so plus they were marked at size 11 1/2....Ideal. They even had orange detailing, 'my' signature colour.. They lasted me nearly 7 years. They were the most comfortable boots I've ever owned and I mourn them still. I have afterwards ever regretted not taking the opportunity to go back there with enough cash to ensure my never needing to buy another pair of that sort ever again. Of course they don't make them any more. So when you find something you like, that's comfortable and superb value, stock up on it because it's about to be discontinued.

I regret not doing this with my boots. For almost 10 years i had the same type of Redwings boots. They cost $300 a pair but they lasted 3 years of hard use a pair. All i had to do was put some boot polish on them and take care of the leather. The soles on my last pair finally wore threw last Christmas. I went to my local redwings dealer to get a new pair and..... they make them in china now. I wouldn't care except that the quality is crap now. Thin leather, less reinforcement, and they just feel cheap. The kicker was that they wanted the same amount of money for the ones made in the U.S. I was very sad and have still not found a good replacement.

100% agree. Companies go out of business all the time, manufacturing moves to cheap labor markets and quality tanks. If you find something really good, doesn't hurt to buy a few for future use as well. If you find something better before you use the ones you last bought, you can always sell them to the guy that wished he bought extra.

I'm so glad to know that I am not alone in this life. My wife and daughters are forever buying new and different things. I simply buy new replacements for the items that are wearing out or being consumed. I extend this philosophy to beer, Land Rovers, dogs, pens, cheese, wine and spirits, chickens, coal, and of course, shoes... it makes purchases so simple.

That strikes me as daft. Luxury has many forms, though, and for some I suppose one is living in a world with little clutter in it. I think many of us like old things, and familiar things. Perhaps it is also a symptom of worrying about what others think of us, and thinking that it is low-status to use old things.

Those get relegated to paint / plumbing pants, and then eventually retired. Two identical pairs of boots, for the same reason. First time I ever heard that style of shoe called a "desert boot". We call that style chukkas, but most people probably just call them "hush puppies" due to a manufacturer that has commonly produced that style of boot. Never owned a pair, but they look a lot more comfortable than the similarly styled "boondockers" that we wore in the Navy. But then again, the boondockers were a safety shoe and as such, comfort was an alien concept to them.

Oh goodness, I have the same habit. I often have multiple knives, chopping boards, bags and other things of the same model. It's because I decided that this particular one works for me, and I would like spares in case they go out of production, or happened to be on discount at the time. I have never regretted buying at such opportunities. In fact, the only regret is when I didn't get a multiple of an item I like, and they later go out of production or become wildly inflated in price!

I suspect it may indeed be a man thing. We think, cool, no need to keep having to go into town, saves the bus fares, etc. Women think, but that would mean fewer days of going out shopping and meeting friends at a cafe! (yeah yeah, hash tag not all on both sides, etc.) I am, however, distinctly fortunate, my gf doesn't really like shopping. We went hunting for a new winter coat once, into the town centre, hit the usual stores. She spent just a couple of minutes checking what was available in each store, nope, no good, move on. Finally reached Frasiers I think it was. In the coat section there was already a young couple, the girl was trying on coats (big pile on a chair already), the guy was sitting on a stool looking bored; he watched us as we approached. My gf strolls up, looks here, a rack there, picks one out, tries it on; yep, that'll do, sold, off she goes to the checkout. Took less than 3 minutes. The guy looked at me in stunned amazement, then he said in a quiet voice (I think more to himself), "But I've been here hours!". Hehe, lucky me.

While doing forestry and tree pruning I wore the prescribed 8" tall Redwing boot. When these came on sale it was wise to get another pair or two. That boot was spendy! Now I have retired with plenty of clothing and boots for whatever I want to do.

I got 5 of the fuzzy, lightweight shirts (black) at the same time. They don't seem to sell them any more and I can see why - 20 years later, I'm still wearing them (albeit with a few small burn holes here and there)!

Loyd. I love this. As someone who is incredibly tall, very few cloths actually it me. An extra large tall carhartt tee shirt however, has never lead me astray. I now own 15.

During the late 1980's desert boots were a fashion statement and the brand to have was "Rollers" although there were others available that were as equally good, they were dead comfortable but were supposedly not very supportive of your feet leading to your feet spreading. I for a time owned a couple of pairs of Doc Marten's boots as well also a comfy footwear. Don't worry about what other people might think, it only matters what you think...

I once was in Belgium and at a store they sold a 12 pack of nice cotton crewsocks for €2,-. I thought huzaa! And snatched a pack up. When i got in the car and i told my girlfriend about the ace deal i got she just asked me well why didn’t u buy more then? I had no reply but was to ashamed to go back in the store i just came from to buy even more socks. 2 years later and the socks are holding up excellent and are comfortable. And I’m still miffed about not going back and buying every pack they had… they outlived the branded crewsocks i got as a present and who where considerable more expensive and in lower quantity (only a 3pack). This video reminded me of this and now i am miffed again.😂 And I’m actually wearing the socks. Obviously i never came across such a deal again.

Clive, I was doing some consultative work for Clarks, and I just noticed that they have an extensive collection of desert boots in 22 different styles on their website. They even have one with a Union flag on it. Of course, I immediately thought of you. I think the 'Walnut Suede' particularly fetching. Toodle pip old bean.

I always buy 2 identical pairs of black boots for work, when the previous two pairs have finally worn out. I have found that by wearing them on alternating days the two pairs easily last four times as long as a single pair worn every day. Something about "resting" the leather on the off day I suspect.

My coworkers swear I only have one set of work clothes (I work in a kitchen, not a place for fashion) and can't seem to comprehend that when I find some chef pants that I really like that I buy a dozen pair. I have no idea how some people wear blue jeans in the kitchen (well, for working in a commercial kitchen, at least).

I actually managed to wear out a spoon twice. I got it when I was about four years old (About the same time I learned to hit my mouth reliably) and I refused to eat cereal without it. After 15 years or so the neck broke from sheer use, so I went and had it repaired (It was made of silver after all) but the silver smith made bodge job of it and it broke again soon after.

I always buy two of everything as I have a sort of obsession with running out! Similarly most of my clothes are slight variations on a theme. I absolutely hate it when you buy a good product and the company stops making it. I've even blended my own tea because of this to try and emulate a blend no longer made.
