Yea, without trying to sound defensive, in which I’m not. That is actually the name of their introductory Bible study. He was asking about Bible study and the benefits so it only makes sense for him to recommend it. I don’t see it as avoidance in this aspect, I do see, however, avoidance when he’s stuttering through the conversation and trying to go to the website on any question Lloyd asks. And the shunning/disfellowshipping is a major avoidance. I don’t think this guy actually understands he’s in a cult though, I think he genuinely believes he’s right.

I would've been in a good 10 yrs when I got reprimanded for talking to a disfell’d member who was required to attend meetings if they hoped to be reinstated. I had no clue I wan't allowed to talk with that person...I was shocked to say the least.

Great interaction. They are definitely well rehearsed on what to say and do. Now this setting here is what they call the Special Metropolitan witnessing work. They have several people all who serve in one capacity or another. My daughter was telling me how they do it. It's different from just seeing a couple of people with a cart. These videos are great at exposing the deceptive nature of JW's. I hope they become a regular part of your channel. Showing the quotes from their own literature as they try to avoid direct questions is very helpful to show non JW's what they are really about. Being deceptive.

Lot's of questions I would have ask him, one of which is: How do you honor Jehovah? His reply should include : making petitions to him, giving him all honor, and praising and thanking him in our prayers ( see The Watchtower, January 2, 1994, page 10 ). Then I would ask him to read John 5:23 which says one should honor the Son AS they honor the Father. This leads to the second question: Do you honor Jesus as you honor the Father as scripture says one should do? If not, why not?

The more I think about it, I would want to ask one of these folks to explain why they believe what they believe. If they answer by asking me to read a book (the Bible or otherwise), I would refuse that and say I want them to explain specifically why they believe, and convince me that it makes sense. Make them think a little more about their own case...perhaps lead to some harder questions.
