How are you going with getting older? I’m 52 and there are times I’m struggling to accept it, I was told my whole childhood I wouldn’t get past 20 because the paradise would be here by then. Then 30. I left by 28 and 7 years of near fatal, unsupported depression

The thing is it's okay even it's carnivorous, if you practice them to eat leaves and be friendly with you ever since they born, they are gonna learn it and follow how you practiced them .. And also can be a herbivorous.. ALSO think that there's so many animals out there these days who were trained like that and now living so well even they did born as carnivores.... That's what GB's tool too;;; brainwashing..

this is probably the main question we ex born- in jw have!! I was raised with the Paradise Lost... book, in the 50s. Why did I believe that there was a paradise at the beginning? my parents believed it, but also the other christian catholic or protestant kids were familiar with this idea...it was in our christian culture. How could a creationist believe that God s creation wasn’ t perfect at beginning? this is the original false idea, which leads to false conclusions. Later, as young adults, we all asked or even discussed most of the 12 questions. But we thought, there are no answers, its beyond our understanding, J will help us in time. Some of us were not longing to a Switzerland style paradise, we believed in technology and science. We knew that the paradise pictures were just a common accepted illustration. Once you believe in a lost paradise, it makes sense to believe there is a divine plan to recover it...

That was one of the last straws for me. I’m a born in multi generational but nothing they said ever made sense to me since childhood. I always figured I wasn’t doing a good enough job but when I turned 18-19 I said that’s it and discovered my spirituality for myself. Had a brief relapse at 25 but no matter how hard I tried none of this made sense and I couldn’t stand the fakeness and lack of genuine love. I always felt if I had to spend eternity with this lot then I’d rather die anyway. It was only after all of this I discovered the online commit exjws and felt massive validation. So proud of us all for making it out.

Anyone that knows much about biology would know that carnivores physically cannot survive on plant matter as their gastrointestinal tract isn't sophisticated enough. Herbivores typically either have multiple stomachs in which plant matter is fermented (like ruminants) or crops full of stones (like certain birds or sauropods) or they have extra long intestines (like perissodactyl ungulates such as horses) to extract as many calories and vitamins and minerals from the vegetation they eat as possible. Herbivory evolved millions of years later than carnivory, as it is easier for an animal to turn meat into flesh than it is to extract protein from plants or biosynthesize it. So yeah, I'm sure you're right, I bet tons of JWs harbor unspoken doubts about that teaching, among several others.

It seems that exJW along with fellow "wordly" listeners and activists and breaking the isolation part of the lie and WT is no longer able to keep the brevity and repetition of it. It's funny how even your comment highlights an issue with the whole thing. Since JWs are so opposed to higher education, only a small fraction of them possesses any kind of expertise, especially in aviation. Who's going to construct the planes, once all the planes left after Armageddon (if there even would be any) exhaust their operational timeline? Who's going to be pilots? Who's going to operate the airports? Who's going to mine the crude oil? Who's going to refine it into jet fuel? It's obvious, that the whole aviation would just disappear, just as the majority of any industrial field existing today. It would be a literal Stone Age.

The part about JWs being assigned to live either in an urban or rural area (whether they like it or not) rubs me the wrong way. Even in a paradise Earth, JWs won't be able to make basic decisions about their daily lives, just like they aren't able to now without guidance from the GB. It's paternalistic and creepy. And the part about god resurrecting people with "perfect" bodies but still homosexual and making them change is not only downright absurd but also ridiculously and unnecessarily complicated; it's similar to the machinations of a third-rate Bond villain.

I asked a sister that and she said well we will probably live on other planets too, but doesn’t the bible specifically say humans was created to live on earth 😂 so that doesn’t make sense. Also side note I have a degree in psychology and from the mental health difficulties that comes from disfellowshipping and even growing up with your friends in school but not allowed to hang out with them even though that goes against everything you want, I can’t believe a “loving god” would impose these rules.

So people will be "assigned" to live in designated places, even if that's not what they like? Heck, they'll learn to like it! Just like they'll learn to drop the gay! Paradise is starting to sound rather like a totalitarian theocracy. We always used to hear how the Earth would be restored to a paradise like Eden. In fact, the Garden of Eden was presented as the blueprint for what all of Earth was supposed to look like, if only Adam and Eve hadn't messed up. I don't recall Genesis talking much about apartment complexes in Eden.

As an ex jw, I think the implication is everybody is going to WANT to live in the way Jehovah has planned...complete 100% unity of mind and thought and desire with Jehovah. Thats why not everybody is getting in.

Hands down one of my favorite videos. When you actually think about this teaching it is so very ludicrous!! 😂😂😂

I used to get so frustrated with the way some scriptures were literal but even a few scriptures later oh no that's figurative. Revelation is the worst for this within the organization.

Okay, no marriage, no sex, no children, right? Then what is the use of being either female or male? I guess we will lose all the fun parts.

I always found it interesting as a child that the animals would become herbivores, except the birds? I guess they will just turn herbivore after they eat all the dead people...

I asked my mom once what would happen if a dead person resurrected and saw that their spouse re-married. She said that she didn’t know but would ask a “more spiritual” sister. What the sister basically said was that, jehova would make sure that the person resurrected would lose the love for their spouse and basically marry another person in paradise. I am sure the sister pulled that out of no where because it didn’t make any sense to me lol

I can remember when I was either 14 or 15,,in Biology class at high school and learning that cats are obligate carnivores. Learning that started to shift my mind against the years of being taught as a kid that "all animals will eat straw, grass " and was a catalyst for realising that all their doctrine on this matter makes no sense. Anyway. As always Lloyd. Fantastic video!

Thank you for answering the questions not one JW wanted to go over with me since I was a child. You explain it beautifully. The scripture where Jesus says Todays you will be with me in paradise. Well Jesus is in Heaven , so Paradise is in heaven.
