I agree. The people need a vid showing what two LM386 PCBs would do with clipping diodes! 👍

I built an LM386 based pedal about 20 years ago. It performed great except it didn't; nothing I did modding it would let punch harmonics through! Using a 3-band tone stack, switching it to a single tone control, various clipping diodes including germanium, high pass network etc., and it didn't matter what amp I used it on. *Fortunately, I moved onto my own designs a few years later and to outstanding success.* If you don't need to squeal, snarl and the sleaze of p.h., it makes one hell of a pedal and an even better mic preamp.

Man... so a few days ago im looking at your diagram and watching the other videos you have around these lm386 boards. I have 2 bullet strat pickguards loaded and was about to recycle that to do this... but i went extra man. So one day on a whim about 4 month's ago i bought a few passive volume, treble, bass boards. So i did one 386 into another like you did on the one pedal. I added the eq, and volume section on the output. I adjusted the input 386 not on max but pretty close, and i added the external trim pot on the 386 output board that goes to the e.q.. i think i bought like 3 or 4 of these e.q. sections from aliexpress for pretty cheap. The pedal sounds amazing to me. Playing with my volume on my guitars and synths and playing with the trim pot on the pedal goes from an aggressive drive, distortion, to almost eqd doomy fuzz pedal. Man i wish i could show you. Maybe ill make a video but i consider a trial run because i have a buff and blend circuit i think im adding to the next one for a clean blend. Your videos even when they dont help me directly still inspire me, so thanks for existing man. I have a pedal ive never seen anyone use or play that i feel is pretty unique and i owe you for it.

@@zurowetz I'll make a video soon. So I figured it would be all doomy sounding so I made a pink enclosure with hello kitty art work as a joke and now I regret it because I find it way more versatile and it's in a stupid hello kitty enclosure

Hey man, awesome stuff. Do you have a simple plan for building this? I have difficulty with the watch order of your LM386 videos and am not really sure whats supposed to go where😅.

Man this is cool. I wanted to do this eventually when i understood more about this stuff. You did a good job explaining as usually but my brain doesnt get it. This is why i wish you had some other way to talk to you so i could be like "can you draw and put it in words" because to me a newbie it just looks fuckin nuts wires everywhere and when you describe it and point i cant really see it all that well. I think more normal people will understand this though. We have a similar way of playing guitar.

It would be easier to explain and show the circuitry if you didn't have it already in the enclosure. I have quite a bit of experience with circuit bending and this is just pointing in a birdsnest.
