@@AwesomeUSMovies the novels are also worth a read, they made the movie, the books and the video game at the same time so they can help fill in some gaps and give a whole new perspective, the game isn't as enlightening but the books explain a few things like how sporadic the movie is and why knives passes out right before sex bob-omb goes on to play

I live in Toronto. The constant movie shoots are really annoying. I watched the "Suicide Squad" movie inside a theater insidethe building that was being blown up onscreen. Corner of Yonge St. and Dundas. So the most interesting part of this movie was it was a Hollywood movie shot in Toronto that was actually set in Toronto.

This movie probably makes my top 5. Originality alone deserves that. Yes, a LOT going on that requires multiple watches. The next time you do, watch for numbers connected to the characters. Scott and Neil are zeroed. Ramona is a ten. The exes have their numbers appear in their scenes. The twins however have 11s occur in their scene because they are 5 & 6 combined. The attention to little details is phenomenal. Sean of the Dead was done by the same director, I believe, and you see it with the quick transitions in both.

"Uh, ok? They're friends now?" Nega-Scott is 'a really great guy' because regular Scott is the true villain of the movie. If you notice, every Evil X has a number theme, and Scott's is 0, implying that Ramona is right when she says he's just another evil X waiting to happen.

In terms of "starring", this a bit of a nexus movie; one of those pictures largely overlooked by the mainstream in its day, but very well-known known in part for the glut of people that went onto be huge later. Wet Hot American Summer only ever was rediscovered for exactly that reason; retroactive star power.

I miss Michael Cera in movies. He played the awkward, goofy, loveable Canadian very well. Some of my favourites are Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Youth In Revolt (where I think he's playing someone with a psychiatric disorder who uses an alternate personality to boost his confidence - and get himself into trouble), and the ridiculously underrated nerdy romantic comedy Paper Heart, opposite actress Charlyne Yi, where they actually played fictionalized versions of themselves and made a lot of people actually believe they were a couple in real life. I remember Roger Ebert (RIP) saying that he wasn't sure after Superbad if Michael Cera was actually a great actor or just playing characters who were like his real personality. I think towards the end, he decided Cera was a very talented actor. But with any actor, casting is everything. You're not hiring Channing Tatum to play Ernest Hemingway in a serious biopic. Michael Cera for a time definitely chose wisely when it came to his roles. He made it seem like nobody else could have played those parts, and that's an actor's job. You'd enjoy Paper Heart. It's a cute little mockumentary. Scott Pilgrim's style actually inspired some of the first episode of Ms. Marvel, with the animation complementing live action. Ms Marvel is another terrific TV series and even though I'm not big on superheroes, I watch is just for the performances, particularly of Iman Vellani as Ms Marvel and the actors who play her family. They're fascinating characters and very realistic, coming from a white guy who was raised a minority in a mostly Asian (South and East) community. I knew girls like Kamala Khan - "cosmic, head in the clouds person" (her mom said). Some shows and movies about nerds, like these, are great, and others descend into Stereotype Hell and only give you what you've seen a million times before. These movies and TV shows don't. They tell stories.
