This Chevrolet came to me due to the spanner light would randomly come on and off...
A quick scan revealed P0504...
Follow me on this video to find out what was the problem and how to resolve it.
And no, I did not have to replace it... it still going! :-)

Nice job . Pretty straight forward . It was the only fault that requested MIL . I have actually become a bit reluctant to work on these Ameri/EU/Chinese cars . Today 01/07/2021 it took 3 scantools to get the right info . Ultra gave me U1000 , Launch P0340 ( absurd ) and bosch gave me the right info . My least favourite tool . Worked on a chrysler town and country with a cooling fan problem . Crazy . Well , you did great . 8 Months and still working .

... seems that the switch is directly wired ... this will eventually lead to contact meltdown / corrosion , etc. since this is a very important safety component (brake lights , ABS , ECU / injection , etc) I wonder why a relay is not use in the circuit ... due to so many similar issues (on almost all brands) those switches seems overlooked by some manufactures and quite low standard spec is used in manufacturing to cut the production cost. The brake switch in this car don't carry much current, both switches are just signal switches. Meaning it is simply corrosion of poor material/manufacturing used in them that caused failure. Some other new cars of different brand also suffers this failure, but once replaced, the newer part seems to last forever.

I have the 2007 of the same car. Same brake switch problem, dealer replaced part under warranty. I believe the car is Asian Daewoo made in Korea, though the engine is from Europe.

Hello sir am from india my car is 2008 manufactured. 1) Is this spanner light is concern with turbo also ? 2) And while running a car after 70 km speed this spanner light indicates and speed will comes down after this light comes and am getting sound of hush like turbo sound like wiggle sound. Why do they use the spanner light as an engine light on those car's

I believe the engine light lights up for certain faults more related to the engine itself... It then has this spanner light for other electrical faults... Don't ask me which faults fall on which light... lol 👍👍👍

​@@LMAutoRepairs. I just bought a used 2013 captiva 2.2 diesel and use for only a month now, the engine at start makes a loud nocking noise, with car and spanner light on. run it for about 30mins and noise disapppears and after few seconds spanner light disappears leaving on mil light

Doesn't sound very good... Scan the car and see which faults are logged... 👍

@@LMAutoRepairs just scanned it now and these are on it. P0032, P0088, P0091, P0030, P0035,P200A and P0254..

I would focus on the codes for the fuel pressure... those can definitely causing the knocking noise you described, a injection noise due to the fuel pressure being too high, which is what P0088 is referring to... Then you focus on the other codes... 👍👍👍
