I can't believe that this song is already a decade old. This song was the only thing you could hear on the radio everywhere you went for like 2 solid years. The only other song that outplayed this one was Rolling in the Deep by Adele which came out right around the same time. And prior to that no song had ever been played so often except for Follow Me by Uncle Kracker

I remember when this dance movement came into the club scene around the early 2000. The roots were in Australia. It was called Melbourne Shuffle and came from their underground hard dance/trance clubs. But I think LFMAO pushed this dance in mainstream and now 20 years later you see so much Shuffle dance moves in EDM music videos.

It was actually in the 90's in Australia, I recall us first doing underage at a club in 1992 (I was 16). It was that EXACT version except it was called called Skanking. It was a staple here and I definitely saw a comeback in around 2000. When I first saw this in 2011 then I shocked the shit out of my kids/teens by doing it to perfection. This takes me back,and its unbelievable how many years old it is already. If you do a quick lmfao party rock anthem lip sync search on youtube,its a gazillion teenagers and kids doing just that to this song,and its no coincidence why they do it. One guy by the name of Keenan Cahill started it all,or at least he was the one making it into a thing back then,he was on everyones lips as he struggles with a rare illness that might shorten his own life span by alot,worst case scenario. He blew up soo much on YT back then,LMFAO reached out to him to actually do a video with him,50Cent was just 1 out many others that wanted to do the same. I believe he is still doing okay,he has actually gotten into making music himself,but his numbers did stoop ever since. People just abandoned him after awhile. But if this struck some curiousity into you,feel free to check him out (not as a reaction but on your own) He told us he did theese videos just to have fun,and it helped him focus on something else then the endless amount of surgery,tests etc to try and counter and slow down what he struggled with. He did not expect to blow up like he did,so he was over the moon when LMFAO,50 Cent,Katy Perry and others lined up to be a part of his musical journey. Seeing the joy on his face was incredible,and the guy has comedic talent! Im sure you would have a good laugh watching him do his favourite songs like that. This is purely what this song makes me think of,not any attempt of promoting another channel. Im not even sure if he is still among us,it has been 2-3years since i stopped by myself. But the videos are still there,as a good memory for himself, his family,friends and his youtube family. And besides this,YES... everyone tried to learn the shuffle back then! Even choreographers started implementing the shuffle into theyr dance choreographies,it was wild! My personal favourite in this video is "theyr mascot" in all gold,with the "tv shaped head". Look at that guys footwork! But ever since childhood i have always loved seeing breakdancing as well,so when LMFAO brought it all back,i thought it was the coolest thing!
