For real though, at 2:02, that alignment is pretty bad. The front wheels should be exactly parallel to each other, and both exactly vertical. His passenger side wheel was leaning in(negative camber), and his drivers side wheel is about right, maybe. With the steering wheel dead straight, hopefully one of the wheels is also pointed dead straight. His passenger side wheel is taking a slight right hand turn while the drivers side is taking a slight left hand turn, but much less. No bullshit. Fix that and you’ll gain more acceleration that what you did with those zip ties. Especially with those big blocky tires, any scrubbing is like pushing an anchor down the street, not to mention I’ll bet those tires were $300+ a piece , and they won’t last 10,000 miles with that alignment. Unless you are dirt only. Even then, with the wheels fighting each other and the truck, you might as well put a piece of wood under the gas pedal and pour some water in the tank. Use a tape measure to find the distance between an exact same point, like the inner most point of the sidewall, at it’s rear most point, which will be halfway up, like the 3 o’clock position, and then the 9 o’clock position, both on the inside sidewall and compare the two measurements. They should be the same. I’ll bet a $3 bill that the front of the tires is 3/4” or more further apart than the rear part of those tires. You’ll find tie- rod collars between each outer and inner tie- rod and, or maybe the inner tie-rod simply turns when you break loose a nut which holds the tie rod adjusters in place after you are done. Find a level or cut a piece of aluminum or steel to fit just inside the lip of your wheels, at the diameter, and use a level to see what angle your wheels are, meaning the top part should be exactly above the bottom part. Turn the adjusters to see which way the wheel is moving, but count how many revolutions you do on each side, and which direction. Very important. And use ratchet straps to hold the steering wheel exactly dead center. It’ll turn tighter, more stable, quieter, and wear your tires less, cut a couple of tenths(maybe) off your 0-60 time, get better mileage, all just by getting those front wheels pointed in the right directions. Would you place your foot with the outer edge leading each step? That would suck and your outer sole would wear prematurely. Get it? Got it? Good. Also, sign up to the LKQ website, if y’all have one within 50 miles, and punch in whatever years are compatible with your truck’s parts, and you’ll get emails whenever Ford trucks with interchangeable parts show up. A seat swap is a breeze, and cheap. While you’re at it, just park your truck inside the gate and walk home, you’ll be better off! That was a bad joke. Lord I do apologize for that cheap joke. The truck is nice. Be proud. Screw the naysayers. I’m just trying to help, and YOU can do it all yourself. Just read and watch a zillion how-to’s, ignore the crap that seems like BS, remember the right ways, get at it. Imagine having to replace those tires tomorrow . It wouldn’t be in my budget for sure. But that time will come down bearing on your neck, and you’ll be stressed too much, over something you could have prevented. For real. Do it. Do it.
