This will be a bit unusual video.
It's a review of a building berth that I recently bought.
I decided to share this review, just because the company that produces it - LMG (Laser model gravel) is from Ukraine and we can help them by buying their products.
Their website - lmg.in.ua/en
Discount on e-bay - ebay.us/WrgUlI
or you can use code - FCM10NEW
Please like and subscribe to see more my builds.

Thanks for watching.

Instead of using your knife you could have used a block sander on the back (the side without ink/burns on it) to make the breaks cleaner and less flashing to clean up. Told this trick many years ago when I first tried building a balsa model.

This looks interesting, I must get one. I have an old Aeroclub (UK) Jig in brass, which is a little too small for the bigger 1/32 kits, but ideal for 1/72, 1/48.My experience is that you need to secure the jig to a block of wood, or clamp to a bench, to stop it moving while rigging.

Thanks for the review. The product is very versatile by the look of it, especially the attachment for WW1 aircraft which will be useful when another pair of hands is needed. I have been looking for a jig for that exact purpose so it will most definitely be on the shopping list.

I bought their BB-01 jig about a year ago for when I am building WWII model aircraft. It works great. Do they sell their BB-02 jig separately since I now want to get into WWI bi-plane models? The link you gave only has BB-02 as part of a large set with BB-01 as its main component. 😊

Hi Ronald, it's better if you contact them directly, the seller on the ebay is the actual manufacturer (at least was a year ago), so he is the best person to contact 😉

@@FlyingCircusModels I haven’t discovered a use for it yet but yeah, better to have it and not need it. 😆 Some instructions with these products would really be helpful, granted that it’s pretty obvious how the main jig parts work.

After a few months of now using it, what do you think about it ? Good sides and bad sides ? Looks good, I've thinking for a while about getting it but doesn't seem to hold the place securely in place ? And do the different structures are easy to move around to fit to the project at hand ?
@FlyingCircusModels
@FlyingCircusModels Жыл бұрын
For bad sides: it's not very convenient to use it and shoot the video, but if you use it just for yourself - you should be good lol, also these self-adhesive soft parts (I do not know how to name them) after 3 month started to unstick from the plywood, so I had to use a glue. Moreover, as it was well said in one of the comments, it's better to attach/secure the whole construction to a table in order to have a bid more solid construction. Otherwise, I really like it and worth it's price.

@@FlyingCircusModels the foam strips just don’t stay on because the glue on them is quite light. I superglued mine neatly to the edges of the supports and they have held firm over several models and counting. They can be replaced if they wear out later. I also blue-tac the four points of the crosspiece base to my work bench for extra stability. And it’s easy to unstick it from the bench if I need to move it around. This is a really useful device. Also, if I need to have the model more securely on the supports, I use a rubberband over each of the ends to keep the fuselage ends and both wingtips in place. The scalloped edges at the base of each support helps hold the rubberbands in position. Hope this is helpful to anyone thinking of getting the jig.

A Ukrainian answer to a mostly Ukraine modeling problem. Seems like a brilliant concept, but like those Ukraine models they could both benefit from some Far East manufacturing.
@FlyingCircusModels
@FlyingCircusModels Жыл бұрын
Well, I partially agree with you, the labor coast in "Far East" countries could be less, yes. However, if all companies in the world would use only those countries' manufactures - then we would have only one economy in the world - "Far East" one. In my opinion - it's a debatable question with pros and cons that every company has to consider and, I'm 100% sure that LMG, is not big enough to move their production, it will not be cost effective for them....
@bebopkirby
@bebopkirby Жыл бұрын
@@FlyingCircusModels l think my point was that l don’t want to necessarily see everything made in the Far East, as much as l wish the West be it Ukraine or the US were manufacturing more products that had their quality. This particular product seems to look like something that could have been manufactured in the 1950’s ; and to fix problems with models that don’t have the precision tooling we are accustomed to see from Asia.
@FlyingCircusModels
@FlyingCircusModels Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry, I misunderstood your comment. Yeah, I would rather have "Western" products as well, because they give work places for local people, but it is what it is. About this tool, yeah it may look like it's from '50s, but it works and not too expensive, cheers
