RabidNemo Shoot the wing, disable it that way and when it crashes it should count as your kill. If a plane turns on its side especially smash the lower wing to bits and they'll start heading for the ground immediately.

I unlocked it and I actually sort of enjoyed the challenge of the assignment. It's not impossible and it gives you a sense of accomplishment once you finally unlock it. Plus most of the assignments in the DLC are so simple as to getting easy kills with weapons. I'm ok with one hard one. If you just take the time to shoot at planes, you'll eventually shoot one down. It's more of a numbers thing I guess, but I tried that one first thing and got it on my second game Of In The Name Of The Tsar, which left me with the mortar kills which I found to be much more harder for me, because mortars seem to have random damage. I was helping my friends get the Parabellum yesterday as well and was able to get them the 2 kills they needed.

I unlocked it myself by unlocking the supressive variant, and using that high rate of fire to my advantage. It was still hard af to do, and it seemed extremely random if I would get the kill, or if the pilot would just fly off. I'm all for a challenge but this had a fair amount of luck to go along with it lol.

I got the 2 in one night. My first was already low on health and I lowered it even more with a tank then just got out for a quick kill. My second was a cheesy one were the plane was already crashing I just got one bullet in and it gave me the destroyed lol

I found that the best map for this assignment is Monte Grappa. I destroyed two planes and finished of a few mortar air burst kills within the first half. The map is good because both sides have plenty of planes, they usually fly very low and concentrate their attacks on the hillside, plus there's plenty of anti air cannons on the hillside so if you're lucky you'll catch a plane that has already been damaged by a anti air cannon. Leach8887 Because they do so little damage, it gives away your position, depends on what lmg you use. It can ruin a flanking oppurtunity, the plane will shoot at you for 2 seconds and kill you.

I did it with a friend, we were communicating by voice chat, and the twist was that when we enter a game, each one of us is in a different team, then we took turns, and spawned in a plane and landed it in an open area and then he shot me with his LMG, it took approximately 1 hour to get it done Because other planes were hunting us, snipers were everywhere, but at least we managed to get the job done

PP22 2 at least 20 damage on the engine disable it. I don't have a source ,but I landed a plane on a low population server and did damage tests on it. 2 sniper shots to it disables it or 1 k bullet. 6 1911 hits or 8 lmg hits also disables it. Frag grenades do 80 dam to attack planes.

First gun i unlocked. Getting the mortar kills took me much longer to do than destroying the planes. I recommend you guys play on st. Quentin scar, it took me one game. Use the LMG with 200 bullets (can't remember what is called).

The assignment after destroying two planes is much harder imo. The best way to accomplish 20 kills with the airburst is to play supply drop and let it rain on contested zones.

I saw a video the other day of this guy with his clan, they filled a full team with their own clan members, had each squad linked in communications with the clan leader, and all of them did everything together. Like, they spotted a tank, twenty of them pulled out Rocket guns and fired at it simultaneously, or all 32 rushed a flag together. At one point, a bomber went to fly overhead. He told them all to shoot at it, 32 fully automatic weapons turned skywards and let the bomber have it. I've never seen so many tracers take the sky before....the bomber dropped in roughly three seconds.

OMG I hope they do WWII since COD royal f@$ked it up with their new game. I played a few rounds of the beta and it is just horrible. I was hoping COD was back with the WWII setting, but I realize now it will never be back, because they are catering to the BS players who jump around, slide, fall down, and quick shot BS. The graphics looks like PS3 crap from when the system first came out. I was always a fan of both Battlefield and COD, but it looks like Battlefield will get all my multiplayer time while I will only play COD for zombies with my girlfriend.

I was really scared at first learning that the LMG's could take out a plane this easy, combined with the AA power.. learning now that the new maps hardly have any AA's in the centre of the Battlefield, only at the spawns.. makes me happy. this really changes the way this game is played... a lot more WW1 like.... the update forces players to change the way they played this game.. before the update every1 was complaining that BF1 is a sniper fest... I bet you will never hear that complained again.. =) we need to learn and change our play style... but in the end I like the extreme short TTK's..

I recommend using the Mg15 suppressive as a defender on Monte Grappa in Operations. From inbetween the two B bunkers you get a very good overview over the sectors and planes come relatively close to you. I managed to destroy 2 planes in one round this way.

Sometimes I use small caliber weapons and shotguns on planes, but no damage is shown in the score feed while a hit marker still appears. Am I still doing damage to that plane, or not damage at all?

I'm only amazed people don't do it all that often. I always make sure to unload my LMG at an enemy plane flying by. Harass them, make repairs for them harder, you'll contribute heavily to taking it down, if not take it down yourself, if you catch it on low health. Putting pressure on enemy pilots by infantry is invaluable and yet almost nobody bothers..

I was trying to unlock the parbellum yesterday on conquest and basically gave up to no avail. I jumped into operations and took two planes down within 5 minutes by sitting back in our spawn. I can tell you from my experience that when I see a support player shooting at my plane the first thing I do is mark him then I turn and go after them.. I always refer to their incoming fire as a tractor beam that lets me know exactly where they are in order for me to easily pick them off..

Ok as a pilot main who is max rank and has played as a pilot since the beginning I don't understand why they would change the lmgs to become the new AA. When I'm in a fighter or an attack plane it was already frustrating dealing with support players shooting at you. You would get chipped 15 points of health and you would have to do a full repair which takes you out of the action and unable to dog fight. It is infuriating trying to fight another plane and get shot at by half the team. The AA system I never thought was very good but it at least rewarded experience such as knowing where they are, how far their range is and where it can hit, as well as how to avoid it by flying low. When you pissed of an entire team by harrasing the whole time and being a good pilot everyone already shoots at you. There is no need for this lmg buff against planes.

I think it's pretty cool that we can finally use primary weapons to deal with aircraft. Couldn't do that in BF3/4 unless you were able to shoot out the pilot.

Quick tip to get the plane kills. Grab the MG NA 15 Suppressive and an Ammo Box and set up in the middle of Galicia. Right in the middle of the map in the field. Just stay kinda in the craters and out of scout sight and just keep an eye out. I got it done in one match. It was the stupid Mortar kills that were difficult. And just keep shooting at he planes.

Struggled with this unlock, spent hours trying yesterday! Changed tack, played Galicia today, lots of bombers to take down. And like buses... etc, shot down 4 planes in one game! Anyway, a fun gun to use :)

I got my final plane kill after using the rear-mounted MG14 on a friendly bomber to shoot an attacking plane for about 90~ damage, then bailed out, got stuck on the tail of the bomber, and finished the job with the MG14/17 suppressive from there xD

I've used LMGs to kill planes since the start. The suppression variants are excellent for it, and it works best on that desert map with the castle.

Personnaly, I've used the MG15 Suppresive version on Albion. 15 min of shooting planes and bombers, and I've unlock the assignement. Best way to do it is to focus a plane which is getting shot by another one or an AA cannon... ;) Good luck!

Went to a Monte Grappe Conquest 64, put my nose to it, and got lucky knocking out two planes with the Lewis Suppressive (100rds) in under twenty minutes. It took me longer to do the damn mortar airbursts.

Focused small arms fire has been effective in taking down planes since release, especially LMGs. No one noticed it til this assignment because there are not enough co-ordinated groups of individuals playing BF1 unfortunately so the tactic has not been strongly approached on a large scale. Two squads of 3-5 players each can easily control the skies, on the fly, from the ground using only their primaries.

I reckon a good idea for plane spawning is that the plane spawns in a field at the back of the map. Would require the pilot to take off and would add some more authenticity rather than just spawn in the sky

Pls answer Everyone Just says that you can skip a weapon to unlock that you dont want, but i cant skip them. I cant skip to the MG 14 i have to unlock the weapons that come First in the list. My english is as bad as your latin ty

Jonas Maurer you are unlocking all weapons at the same time. If you get a progress it will show you. Just check wich gun u want to ulock and what u need to do and do it. Tracker will activate automaticly. So u can at the same time make progress for multiple guns. Basicly just unlock what u want.

Kristjan Prodan Thank you For helping me with my problem, but now i know that Battlefield 1 is Buggy (at least one my PC) cause it still DOESNT WORK! To unlock the chauchat i have to kill 50 people with the Lewis gun defensiv and i did but IT didnt Work. I think For the ribeyrolles or a different weapon i have to kill 50 people with the automatico AND I HAVE GOT OVER 200 KILLS WITH IT!! I dont know why IT doesnt Work but ITS a serious problem Is there a secret "track Button" or do you have to Something else? If you could unlock every weapon at the Same time , Then i would have unlocked a few cause i am almost Level 90 and i have played with almost every weapon before. Jonas Maurer well do you have premium or dlc ? If you dont, thats the problem but if you do and it doesnt work maybe try to contact dice. I dony know how try to search on web or in bf1 it should be somewhere and they will help you.

Here's how you do it in one round. Get into a map like Fao or Sinai Equip the Chauchat Telescopic Go to one of the AA guns Throw down an ammo crate Get on the AA Get one of the planes interested When they come in, hit them with the AA up to about 70-80 damage Jump off the AA, go prone, and finish it up with the Chauchat Got 2 planes before mid match Good luck.

can't you use other LMG with a heavy barrel? I think low weight can't last till planes are down

Did them both and one extra in one game on my second real attempt. You just have to fire at the same plane that someone on an actual AA gun is already shooting and steal their kill. Also, planes that have been abandoned but haven't blown up yet count. Also also, do it on Monte Grappa, it's the only real option unless you want to really frustrate yourself. I used the Perino 1908 lightweight with AA sights because it can fire 60 rounds without overheating, but I'm not sure it's actually the best for it.

this gun was actually used in world war one for anti aircraft as well as infantry i am a airplane mechanic and was studying the fokker dr1 german triplane and came across some pictures of soldiers with this gun placed on their bipods aiming at the skys pretty sure it was mostly used by the french

Was the low weight variant worth it? I main Support so the parabellum has been on my eye since CTE; but the main reason I'm asking is because I got the suppressive one and I don't know if I should get the low weight since the suppressive is basically the same thing but with the bonus of a scope

1 thing don't like about support kit is that it doesn't have other alternative weapon category, only LMGs. Would be nice to have carbine guns or bolt action rifles without scope variants.

The mg14 is amazing and I do agree with you, I just think they need to lower the recoil a smige. Like a literal smidge so it can take down planes a little easier. I will not lie, since the dlc came out and I got the two lightweight lmgs, I have yet to see anyone shoot down planes. No one bothers to shoot down planes with lmgs. Everyone is more preoccupied with getting kills and winning. Other than that it's perfect.

I was dreading the "destroy 2 aircraft with LMGs" but on my first conquest game on Albion, I destroyed 2 planes back to back within 30 seconds of each other using the new Perrino model 1908 LMG. I was pretty lucky to say the least
