It's NOT boredom. She's got tunnel vision because she refuses to accept her "baby" girl is not a baby anymore. She deflects and changes the subject when she doesn't get what she wants. She's got a brand new marriage that she is ignoring because she's more obsessed with controlling her her daughter than she is saving her marriage.

Portia needs to listen to Taggert. She keeps saying that Spencer is driving a wedge between her and Trina. How is that the case. She lied to Trina. He told Trina to stay with her family while he and Laura took care of Ace. The threat if anyone, is Esme. They can team up and make sure she doesn’t hurt Trina.

I mentioned in an earlier post how Portia saw having a child as a way to garner the attention of her husband, Marcus Taggert. I remember her saying to Trina the day Portia's dirty little secret came to light that Taggert was working a lot and she wasn't getting any attention and so she slept with Curtis; but it wasn't until Taggert realized she was pulling away that he started paying attention to her again; and loving on her again;and then she found out she was pregnant. Now, so far, we only know Portia's side of the story, and I'm wondering if all of what she said to Trina is even true? What if Portia wanted Taggert to find out she was having an affair? She had Trina and used her as a way to hold onto Taggert. And if you ask me, what she did to Curtis was foul. Once she got her husband back she dismissed Curtis as an after thought. She flat out used him, and didn't give a damn as to whether or not he might be the father; after all, she had Taggert back. Her behavior is that of a narcissist. I see Portia repeating the same pattern only this time it's slightly different. Trina is living her life as a young free adult, and Portia can't deal. She used to be able to hold her daughter's attention and now she's been replaced with Spencer Cassadine. And so not only does Portia see Spencer as a threat, she see's him as both competition and an impediment to her relationship with Trina. As i've said before, Portia is an attention seeker and she'll get it wherever she can 💯

@@RachelFitzAnne At this point anything's possible. She seemed intrigued by Spencer's heated interaction with Esme, so I could see her working that angle. However, it would be a shame if she were to lower herself (and she's already Narcissistic) and team up with Esme in order to drive a wedge between Spencer and Trina would be the ultimate betrayal. If you listen to Portia her issue is the same issue she had in her marriage to Taggert: Not being the center of attention; and acted out by having an affair. Portia see's Trina as an extension of herself, therefore any thoughts of seeing her as in individual cease to exist. Any outside interference or those she deems a threat, need to be removed. Anything that takes away from her being the center of attention is a problem; and so Portia's acting out. This is Portia: How dare you live your life outside of me. What about me? What about my needs? You don't listen to me anymore. The thought of Trina being happy pisses her off because her life right now is miserable. The only time Trina is allowed to be happy is when Portia is happy. Example: Portia suddenly doing a 180 and extending a wedding invite to Spencer Cassadine 💯 P.S. I have no idea as to when Trina will find out, but hopefully this doesn't last all Summer💯

In all fairness, I do understand a little, Portias's perspective and concern for her daughter, any decent mother, who truly loves their kid would.....because the Cassadines does have their history of violence and pulling other people along with them.....BUT, there is a big BUT.....she has to be mindful that Trina is a young adult and she is gonna make her decisions. Portia just need to thread cautiously, observe the strong love/bond between Spencer and Trina and try to advise her subtly to be careful....because it's not Spencer that might eventually or directly hurt Trina, but the elements that surrounds him that he has no control over.....because he does love her and will protect her at all cost if he can.

She thinks that she can gaslight you to supporting her based on your past association with the Cassadines. Taggert was blatantly blunt with her as needed. Oh its evident that Portia has this misplaced anger and frustration with herself since her skeletons in the closet has been exposed. No longer is she the strong willed, independent, good natured, protective mother that Trina has adored. The faith has been shattered. Her mother was shown as a woman with loose morals & selfishly entitled. Willing to do just about anything to have and keep a man. Just as Trina stated about holding no Illusions for Ava, it is now the truly the same as Portia. Portia knows this but doesn't want to comprehend all this entails. That she has to earn both Trina & Curtis respect, not attain it by manipulation. She doesn't realized that she's only dissuading her only daughter from never trusting AND confiding in her.
