Man 20+ years ago Nikolas had these same concerns. He thought he was doomed to turn out just like Helena, Stavros & Stefan. smh he was right. I hope Spencer gets to forge his own path. Alexis broke free. Spencer mite be able to as well, especially since psycho granny isnt alive to threaten him abt being the Cassadine heir like she did Nik.

Nikolas died a long time ago with Emily. One of TCs last scenes was with CT(Helena) and Nikolas expressed everything good in him died with Emily and he no longer cared to be a good person anymore.

Things went downhill for Nikolas after Gia was recast, and Tyler returned but wasn't given much to do, so Nikolas has been going downhill for a long time in my opinion.

I just realized i miss the absurd chaos of the Quarantine holiday gatherings. This gathering was nice & wholesome but Spencer doesnt fit in with them. He needs some companionship & excitement, as long as it doesnt come with a side of evil intent *cough cough* Victor. Im glad he went to find his girl🤗

Y'know, I'm really glad they're tackling this subject with Spencer; having him grapple with what it means to be a Casadine and showing his earnest desire to try and escape his family's toxic legacy. Spencer's path now is very reminiscent of Nikolas' many years ago when he had his own fears of becoming like his father. I think this is a great opportunity to show the similarities between Spencer and Nikolas but also highlight their very different circumstances that can (and hopefully will) lead them down two completely different paths and where Nikolas eventually succumbed to the Casadine influence, Spencer will rise above it. Unlike Nikolas, who was raised on Casadine Island, surrounded by the likes of Helana, Stefan, and Stavros and being fed Casadine lies and propaganda, Spencer has more than enough opportunity to truly break free from his cursed lineage, especially with the help of family like Sonny and Alexis. I believe that if Spencer really leans of both those members of his family, he can truly become his own man. Moving in with Sonny and out of Wyndemere was a good start, and I love that Alexis told him to find something that makes him happy outside of being a Casadine. Another thing I think would be significant to Spencer gaining his independence would be for him to change his name and become Spencer Matthews after his mother Courtney. It would be a great way to honor her and a strong symbol of his independence and status as his own man.
