Taggert rolling his eyes at Spencer is on brand. There's history there. His disdain for Spencer is warranted due to who Spencer's father and uncle is to him. Taggert has to remain Trina's father. Not every black family on the show has to be related.

You can tell Spencer has more respect for Taggert than Curtis . All actors involved in this storyline are great. Glad GH is putting a real focus on the whole family and what portia did. The actor who plays Curtis was killing it

These last few weeks of the show, I've been in awe and yea Sprina is apart of it but more so at my color on screen. Like its everywhere, from authority, crime underworld, medicine; young and old. I've loved GH regardless watching on/off 30+ yrs (Anna/Duke, OG Lucky/Liz, Scrubs-Nightshift *chefs kiss*, S&B, Sonny vs Taggert to name a few) and they've always been brave enough to tackle relevant social issues but it fills me up to see my soap put black love (family, friend, romantic) in the forefront. Its needed and appreciated. And its not only telling their stories and showing their talent from Mary Mae/Epiphany/Taggert etc.. but including our religion, mannerisms, heritage. That's not a small feat and fitting for the 60th anniversary yea there's room for better writing but I'm still thankful.

When I was a kid watching there was the Phillips (Claudia & Bryan) who were bffs with Laura & Scottie and slowly they became accessories to be written out. Nearly 10 years after their departure came the Wards, but they slowly dissipated, which pissed me off because they killed off Justus who was actually a Q. When I heard that they were moving in a black core family again launched by TJ, I wasn't up for the disappointment, so I shied away. But I must admit, GH whose EPs of past claimed they couldn't write black characters surprised me that little TJ (Molly's bf) actually became the central line that developed and established black characters as more than supporting. I'm glad they arrived, finally. I didn't think I'd live to see the day. It wasn't until I saw that beautiful chocolate girl as Spencer's desire did I remotely give it glance. It's #Sprina for the hook.

I love soaps. Imagine taking a 20 year hiatus from watching gh. Then you flip it on one day and there is Taggert, Laura, Elizabeth, Kevin, Scottie, Alexis, Ned, Sonny, Anna, Felicia, Mac, Robert... played by all the same actors from decades ago! It warms my heart ❤

These past few weeks I have come to the conclusion and realization that while Spencer is a Cassadine (obviously because of his last name ) he is more a Corinthos in my opinion. To me he is a Sonny/Valentin hybrid with a mix of Laura. Now I know that he's no choir boy and he's petty, jealous, arrogant, self-destructive, and his temper can and will flare at inappropriate times. Truth be told. He does have a dark streak, but so does Cam. At the core of who he is, he is loving, caring, romantic, thoughtful, and protective by nature. Those are the traits that Sonny and Valentin have. That's probably why most Sprina shippers also ship Vanna (to me they are the more mature version of Sprina). Not many will attribute many good qualities like selflessness, caring, and loving to damn near any of the Cassadines who tend to be evil, vengeful, manipulative monsters. But like Sonny he has a temper, is self-destructive, but is loving, caring, and very protective of the people he loves. Similarly to Valentin he is jealous & arrogant but thoughtful & romantic, and knows when to let his lady take the lead. He's protective and romantic in the way he will stand back and silently be supportive, or by doing small gestures like opening the door for Trina or placing his hand on the small of her back to guide her to and from a situation. It wasn't lost on me that when Trina was confronting Portia his hand placement was at her mid back so his thumb could slightly and gently caress her skin to quietly soothe her. It was the end of this scene where you saw his concern for her and when she wanted to leave, he obliged her by subtly putting his hand on her hip to guide her out. That's sexy because it wasn't obvious, but in his nature to do it.

Love all the analysis. Good characters will make you reflect. Spencer is every good and bad thing about both sides of his family. A propensity for darkness, hopelessly romantic, extremely emotional…Viewers get a front row seat to this war for his soul. Sometimes it’s a war within himself. Sometimes it’s him being drawn to/into family drama…I just love this character. I wish GH took the care with all the characters that they do with Spencer. It would be a better show if they did.

The writing is going in a different direction with Curtis, ,but I have always wanted Taggart to remain Trina's father. When he hugged her and wiped her tears that did it for me❤️. One thing can be said about Taggart.. he does not pretend with Spencer. ....being the typical dad that sometimes does not like the boyfriend/possible future husband. Monday should be interesting though....as Trina will be leaning on Spencer.

I LOVE Daddy Taggert and Trina scenes. Real and Tabyana hit ALL the right notes and the IRL relationship shines on screen! Ughh, the feels here! 😭Trina is just so 💔 and her emotions are on point with the revelation that Taggert may not be her biological fatger. I get it. I wished for a Daddy like Taggert and watching Trina and Taggert together just makes me smile with joy. So nice to see a man REALLY be there for his daughter and just love her and support her. Some of the best scenes of this week! Real Andrews and Tabyana Ali were wonderful👏 Emmy worthy performances from them and Brook Kerr. I love when Trina asked if Portia's lie meant anything to him and his response was perfect. "Because you have been and always will be my daughter. My baby girl"🤎 And the delivery of the lines were spot on. I love when Spencer showed up and apologized for interrupting and Taggert told don't and move on. I'm fine with Taggert's disapproval of him. His daughter, his right. Not Curtis and certainly not Marshall. And when Trina asked Spencer to get her out of there, it took me back to when GL's Tammy asked Jonathan the same thing but they do have Lucky Gold as a writer and he was writing for GL back then.

Welp, I'm 😭 done for. Taggert and Trinas talk was good cleansing. Portia betrayal devastating Trina like that will take some time to sort through a broken heart. Even though Spencer is not Trina's family's favorite person, they will learn to appreciate that he has Trina best interest at heart. Help keep her centered just like she has been to him.. I just thought of something. Taggarts only connection to family in Port Charles is Trina and he barely shows up anymore.
