Me too! I love their relationship! Similar to her relationship with Nicholas. I kinda wish GH would showcase and build Spencer's relationship with his female cousins too.

@@rozanafelicien3557 IDK if that will be a good idea since his female cousins ( or should I say Kristina) wants him to be with the mommy of his brother and make an official family. If you go back and check the scene where Joss checked Spencer (think it was back around the 1st of August ), he and Joss were talking about Trina, Esme and Ace and she wanted to make sure he wasn't neglecting Trina while spending time with his brother which he wasn't. Kristina overheard the conversation and told Spencer that he needs to be with his baby mama until Joss pointed out that Ace is his brother not his son, and Kristina made sure to insinuate in not so many subtle words that Spencer should stay with Esme to raise Ace and not be with Trina because his brother should be his first priority. Which pissed everyone off because as Joss pointed out what Esme did was illegal and she is getting a free pass because of memory which is not entirely okay and Joss also had to remind her that Spencer does not love her or want her as anything not even a friend, and also that Spencer is not the father of Ace but his brother whom happens to be in love with someone else named Trina. In case no one knew I cannot stand Kristina when she was smaller I loved her but once she grew up and became more of Sonny daughter she has just become unbearable.

The funny thing is Nikolas has it in his mind to do this whole "power play" to keep Spencer from controlling the family fortune; and Spencer REALLY could give less than a damn about it. Which SHOWS the maturity he's acquired since returning back to Port Charles. When he first arrived in P.C., ALL he could think about was re-connecting with Nikolas and getting access to his Trust Fund. NOW, his priorities have CHANGED. His attitude has shifted MORE in favor of "Family" & "Loved Ones"; those including Trina, Ace, Laura, Sonny, & Alexis. As well as Others that he has high regard for - such as Curtis, Marshall, Stella, & Joss. I'm not saying that he DOESN'T care about the family fortune or legacy; But he's NOT self-absorbed in it after ALL of the Drama he's dealt with WITHIN HIS FAMILY. His MAIN concern regarding that, is to give Ace a clean slate, so that he won't grow up to be as "damaged" as Spencer feels that HE IS. Another Reason as to why Spencer is so fervently adamant of Protecting & Preserving his relationship with Trina, because SHE is his "PEACE" as well as the "Love Of His Life".

Nikolas started off like Spencer too. I think it would have been more understandable if Nikolas's reasoning was that he wanted his sons to be co-heirs and equal. I could see how things would get dicey down the line once Spencer actually has a kid of his own and Ace falls down the line. Lol that kid has interesting DNA, he isn't going to play 2nd fiddle of they write him like his bloodline.

@@pb4ugo19 Ace is STILL a question mark regarding his Paternity, so I'm not sure how they're gonna play that out in terms of inheritance purposes ? 🤔 Also, if it proves that Ace is NOT a Cassadine; I'm almost CERTAIN that Esme will take advantage of her Alliance with Portia, and have her to tamper with the results.

@@angelaclark6728 I believe he is a Cassadine by way of NIcholas he just is not the heir to the throne. If look at old episodes when Nikolas was with Emily then it is explained by both Stavros, Nikolas, Laura and Helena and Stefan that Nikolas is the Heir because he is the 1st born son to the 1st born son of Mikkos that is the only person whom can be the "Prince " and Heir. It was I believe in 98 or so when Stefan stated that Nikolaus is his son with Laura (Laura thought so too) well Nikolaus stated to Lucky that they could not call him the Prince anymore because with Stefan being his father he is no longer the Prince or the heir. When later it was revealed that Stefan lied and Stavros was his father then was said he is the Prince and heir. So in that regard Ace will be a Cassadine like Stefan was but the Prince and Heir will be Spencer just like his grandfather Stavros and his father Nikolaus.

One thing I really like is that the show ain’t trying to act like Ace is an heir. They kept calling him an heir, but technically Spencer is the only Heir (first born son of the first born son)…. I really like this moment bc we haven’t heard him talk about his future at all. So this was a great change of pace.

I think that will be an interesting future storyline between the two brothers. Once Spencer gains full control, like Nikolas, he isn't going to want to give power away. It would be soapy & in true Cassadine fashion for Ace to challenge Spencer's place.

@@Dee-jp6noI don’t think this show will be around long enough for Ace to grow up, but even if it was, he’d have zero ground to try and challenge anyone. That’s why I don’t understand why gh leans so heavy into them fighting amongst themselves. Give them a rival family to go against. Because as long as Nik’s alive, Spencer can have his trust fund but the ultimate power goes to Nik. And Ace(assuming a dna proves he’s actually a Casssadine) will never have power bc he’s not the first born son. He’ll get whatever Nikolas and the family gives him.

@@nfgc86 Things can always evolve. For a time, Valentin took over. Cassadines are known for blood feuds. Ace has an incredible DNA mix. He's going to be quite a handful if he is written accordingly.

But now that’s Spencer of age, he’s next in line…I’m a little biased but I’m really not here for Ace being a factor at all. He’s just a constant reminder of how far nikolas has fallen as a character. But if they’re gonna have him around someone do a damn dna test.

I think that Spencer should get everything the money and the properties. After all its been over 6 months according to Spencer, so the contract says that it goes to the heir. Nicholas constantly does things to hurt Spencer over and over again , and now Ace is in the picture and he thinks of Ace as a do-over for the mistakes he made with Spencer instead of trying to fix it. It would be great if Alexis could get her licence back and Laura realizes that Nicholas have been lying this whole time, and they both team up with Diane to punish Nicholas.

Nikolas was raised and adored by Stefan, who did his best to protect him from Helena. They were thrilled to find out they were father/son before they found out it was a lie. Stavros was "dead" & Nikolas didn't meet him until he was an adult.

Stefan manipulated Nikolas his entire life. He raised Nikolas isolated from other children his age, refusing to let him go anywhere on his own. He raised him in a life of fear, under constant guard and told him it was all to protect him when in reality it was to control him. I don't doubt for a second Stefan loved Nikolas but it was a totally messed up and warped kinda of way. We judge Nikolas for how he treats the people he loves, well he learned that behavior from Stefan. Back in the day the show did its best to romanticize the way he was treated because they wanted us to root for Nikolas and the Cassadine but time and perspective go a long way to show it for what it was. Nikolas was stolen from his mother as an infant and was for an intents purposes emotionally and psychologically abused by them. Alexis is one of the few characters who seemed to understand that. And I hope she can help Spencer see the light.

@@hordeofswords I agree. Stefan had his own deep rooted issues due to Helena. I think he was disturbingly possessive because Nikolas was all he had. As far as my comment, I was more reacting to the script. The writers are making it seem like Stavros was involved in Nikolas's childhood.

What's even more bizarre is how everyone is talking to Spencer like he's ignorant of Nikolas life before Port Charles. So this makes me wonder what does he actually know about his father and what he's been through.

Stavros was the most diabolical creature ever scribed and Helena was his enabler. It's a true shame that that family keeps breeding using the same prescription their forefathers did and then wonder why it is still so toxic in men. The moment I heard that Esme was giving birth, it didn't matter which Cassadine was the father. Spencer is wonderful in his sincerity but playing with a baby is not being a father outside of the prescription. Nic doted on him too. Eventually the "thirst" wins. You have to do a Harry move and toss the crest.

The fact that they keep bringkn up to Spencer Nikolas has a bad childhood, makes me wonder how much of it he actually knows or were a lot of the more nasty bits glossed over?

I was wondering the same thing. Spencer doesn't seem to understand why Alexis and Laura choose to stand by Nikolas. Nikolas didn't meet his mother until he was about 16 and the only reason he did was because Lulu was sick. When he arrive in Port Charles he was treated terribly for years. When I watched those scenes I couldn't believe how bad of a mother Laura was to Nikolas. It amazed me that Nikolas was able to move pass all of that and now Nikolas and Laura have a great relationship. I think they should sit down with Spencer and just kind of explain what Nikolas childhood and young adulthood was like.

@@Uta-xu4uf This. The fact that Alexis hesitated when describing Stavros speaks volumes to Spencer's ignorance. If he doesn't know the whole truth about Stavros, then what does he know. Nikolas surviving his childhood/young adult years is a miracle. He was essentially stolen from his mother as an infant and raised by his captors. He wasn't allowed to go to school or have friends. He couldn't go anywhere without bodyguards even when at home (despite being raised on an island in the middle of nowhere). He was raised by Stefan who manipulated, lied and controlled him all in the name of loving and protecting him. People condemn Nik for actions regarding Spencer but Stefan is where he gets it all from. He comes to Port Charles at 15 and is literally picked on and bullied by the entire town of grown adults. Including his own mother, brother and stepdad who emotionally, psychologically and physically abuse him. He only seems to find his feet after a traumatic near death experience. Him getting shot at Luke's (at 16, he turns 17 while in the hospital) and suffering the stroke afterwards that took his ability to speak for nearly a year began to turn people's attitudes about him around. Gets into a romantic relationship with Katherine Bell whose been grooming him since he was 15. She is ultimately killed by Helena. Dates Liz's sister but she doesn't get him. Dates Gia bit she can't get over him being a Cassadine. He starts to develop a relationship with his mother only to have her suffer from a mental break that separated them for most of his 20s. He wishes up to Stefans manipulation but his uncle tragically dies. He is reunited with, falls in love, married and divorced Emily. Gets involved with Courtney who gives birth to Spencer f and she dies, all by age 21(they have retconned Nikolas age since to make him older but he was originally very young). Spencer is kidnapped by Jacks and Carly and kept from Nikolas for the first year of his life. He is thrust into single fatherhood, rekindles his romance with Emily, gets engaged, watches Emily get killed in front of him, is diagnosed with a brain tumor and undergoes brain surgery, all before Spencer turns 4. He then settles into a pattern of single fatherhood, running Cassadine industry and taking care of Laura for the remainder of his 20s. Late 20s he has the affair wit Liz, ruins his relationship with Lucky, Laura wakes up. Most of their relationship is developed off screen as both Genie and Tyler had left the show. Laura returns to PC and she is incredibly close to both Nikolas and Spencer. When Nikolas returns to PC he and Laura have a real mother/son relationship as if their past never happened. This is when he gets shot by Stavros and almost dies and you can see how far they've come. From what the show has painted, Laura was a very present and active art of Spencer's childhood. This may be one of the reasons it seems they've glossed over or seemingly sanitized all the dark stuff Nikolas has been through. I wonder if this was in part to spare Laura since it's a time she still clearly regrets or for Nik to spare Spencer from that nightmare? Or both? Either way he clearly doesn't know. I would love it for Alexis and Laura to si Spencer down and talk to him about Nik's past. He thinks of his Dad as this horrible, unloving person when in reality he's this loving person who got crushed and broken by the weight of the life he lived. It seems this may be where we are heading. I really hope so.
