You can see clearly when he sits down that he's not just feeling the weight of the news settling on him emotionally --- but like he's taken an actual physical blow. His first reaction isn't to break into tears or anything like that. He's just so overwhelmed and can't even believe it. Very strong performance from Nicholas Chavez in my opinion.

Cameron also knew this which is why even he was surprised that Spencer referred to Esme has his girlfriend in their conversation in this episode.

Trina has a big bombshell heading her way soon... her paternity and how Portia kept it a secret her whole life. Spencer knows all about parent betrayal and will be there to help her deal with the fall out of finding out that her mom lied to her about her father her whole life. They are about to go through a lot together and that's what makes them a super couple.

@@seniorqueen08 couldn’t agree more. They’re definitely getting the super couple treatment and I love it. I just want them to have lighter moments sprinkled in. I want to see them have dates and romance. That’s why I loved the NYE scenes with them. But also minor conflicts as well. The stakes don’t always have to be jail or death. I loved Scrubs and they had lots of conflicts. But one of my favorite mini arcs was Robin bought him a sofa and he realized how serious their relationship was. And that lead to some spiraling on both their parts.

Dayyyuuum!! I FELT EVERYTHING from NAC regarding Spencers' immediate reaction. pain, and anguish regarding Britts' death/murder. Bravo to NAC because he really sold the " suckerpunched/sucked the wind out of my body" reaction even down to he breathing and cracked voice, regarding the news from Uncle Sonny. The weight of everything with his Daddy/Esme, the hook targeting Trina, going to jail, CaOss breaking up, and now this, is just so heavy for Spencer to deal with. You see him trying to control his emotions, and be in Prince mode and not publically fall apart, but oh, my when he does, it's going to be EPIC! Britt meant the world to Spencer, his second mother and good friend. Time for another emmy for NAC for sure. My baby Spencer needs a break for sure. I appreciate my other baby Cam so much. When he saw Spencer was about to lose it, he put his hand on his shoulder/back as a comforting gesture for his cousin/bestie. His concern for Spencer, is just too sweet considering he just had his heart broken by MedSchool. Gah, I love my boys!! I may not be a Sonny fan these days (since Sexis) but happy to see Uncle Sonny come through for Spencer here. Now, I need Trina by his side because when her paternity secret comes out, it's going to be "on and poppin" as Spencer would say. Well done scenes! 👍❤👏👏

First off, I love Spencer and Cams relationship. Second, I really appreciated the subtle nuanced way Spencer reacted to hearing about Britt. I know some people wanted a big dramatic outburst from NAC/Spencer, but having it at Kelly's and in front of certain people would not have been appropriate. Processing grief 😔 can come in waves. I think at this point, Spencer is so tired, like he said , of dealing with horrible news that the shock has to wear off. I believe he will have his Florida Evans(Good Times) damn, damn, damn moment either in private or with someone he can feel vulnerable with (Trina). All of it will hit him as he has time to process the last 24 hrs. Sometimes the most profound acting is done in an understated way. This is one time where less is more. Just my non professional 2 cents.
